London friends: Voices of Resitance writer will be part of this collection of short plays from Palestinian writers, produced by , and wnd set to be performed at Theatre503, London, June 1st – June 6th at 7.30pm.

The plays include an English Language World Premiere of a fifteen minute extract of a play by Walid Daqqa (The Tale of the Secrets of Oil, Fusion of Consciousness, A Parallel Time), the longest serving prisoner in Israeli jail at the time of his death in 2024.

Alongside Nahil Mohana and Walid Daqqa, the featured playwrights include Ali Abu Yassin, Hossam Al-Madhoun, Mohammed al Qudwa, Dareen Tatour, Imad Wahba, Motasem Abu Hasan and Jehad Abu Dayya.

The cast, which is entirely of Palestinian heritage, includes the brilliant Sama Rantisi and Sara Masry. The plays are directed by Ahmed Masoud (author of the story Application 39, from Palestine +100) and Micaela Miranda.

Thank you Dr Rita Sakr for a brilliant talk at yesterday, 'Narrating Gaza after the Severing,' which drew on the diaries of Atef Abu Saif and the rich history of Palestinian and Arabic literature written in response to the Nakba and in defiance of the Israeli occupation's ongoing attacks on Palestinian people and land, including the genocide in Gaza to which Abu Saif was a witness.

Thank you to Dr Sam Durrant and for organising this event.

Dr Sakr is publishing a new book 'Arab Displqcements: Experimental Literature, Necropolitics and Decolonial Hauntology' with Edinburgh University Press later this year.
