Bank Holiday weekend! 🌞

No markets for me this weekend, I'm taking a little time off to enjoy some simple, quiet luxuries.

A little gardening; I have a very traditional small Manchester yard, so it's all pots. But I have an apple tree and bluebells, and I'll be planting strawberries and mint in hanging baskets.

I need to tidy the house too. Nothing quite like a sleep after changing the sheets when you have no alarm the next day.

Do you recognise these windows? The old and the new together.

The venue for my market this weekend the People's History Museum, on Saturday and Sunday.

It's being held in the engine hall, which still has lots of original industrial details, and where these beautiful big windows are.

They'll be 25 makers there and I know a couple of them are my chums, so it should be a lovely weekend.

Greens 💚 ...and pinks, and purples...

Green aventurine gems for today's featured earrings ✨

I have these little hoops with other gems too: rose quartz, amethyst, carnelian, garnet...but green is my favourite colour

It's also the colour of the beautiful tiles at Victoria Baths, where I'll be this weekend for their Spring market (do you see what I did there, that link! Slick right?)

Lovely news to share this month, my newest stockist is the wonderful Bud 🌷

I’ve been going to Bud for all of its 15 years: that’s two sites, and I think a stall at the old Levenshulme market. It’s also one of my happy places.

There’s a real love of plants and gardening, a commitment to community and the environment, and a wealth of shared knowledge means you’ll buy a plant and know what to do when you get home.

Alongside the garden centre, Bud has recently opened a little gift shop in a repurposed shipping container. There’s ceramics, cards, vintage homeware, candles, very fancy tools and other carefully selected items all from makers or small suppliers, and now The Magpie’s Daughter jewellery.*

It's Bud's birthday this month too, with celebrations this Sunday 26th April.

I have two markets this April.

This Saturday (tomorrow) I'm at Campfield and it's the launch of their new extended market site. Later in the month I'm back in Withington for the Copson Street market. It was rained off last month so we're all hoping for better weather next weekend 🤞
