Happy World Rum Day

The second Saturday in July marks a celebration of the distilleries and the culture of Rum.

From its origins in the Caribbean, the drink of choice for pirates and seafarers, to its modern day global appeal. Rum whether neat over ice or in popular cocktails such as the mojito, daiquiri and Mai Tai has become one of the most popular spirits available today.

Percy Brothers Hotspur Press, one of the most photographed and many people’s favourite buildings in Manchester.
Burned down on 23rd June 2025
The 225 year old former cotton mill and printing company was an icon, and now sadly, there will be yet another apartment building in its place.
