The building known today as FAC 251 – Factory sits on Princess Street in Manchester and was once the headquarters of the legendary Factory Records.
The label, founded by Tony Wilson, helped shape Manchester’s music scene in the late 1970s and 80s, launching iconic bands like Joy Division and Happy Mondays.

The building was given the catalogue number FAC 251 when Factory moved its offices here in 1990.
After the label collapsed in 1992, the space went through several incarnations before being revived in 2010 as a nightclub, continuing Manchester’s rich club culture in the spirit of the legendary The Haçienda.

Today, Factory remains one of the city’s best-known nightlife venues — a building where Manchester’s music heritage still echoes every weekend. 🎶

Vimto or Vimpto ??

The unique soft drink, made up of blackcurrants, raspberries, grapes and herbs and spices was first concocted by John Noel Nichols on Granby Row in the city centre in 1908, first produced as a health tonic and sold as Vim Tonic.
This sculpture, a monument to vimto, carved by environment artist Kerry Morrison, was commissioned to sit on the site in 1992 to pay homage to the bright purple drink.
Loved by Mancs, it’s now sold all over the world

For those who don’t know us, we’re Karen & Neil and this is our fabulous little business.

Launched in 2018, we have supported local independent artists, makers and small business’s to showcase their amazing talent and offer their products to a wide range of consumer and corporate customers.

We’re very proud to be about to enter our 9th year of trading, and to have made many good friends amongst the creative talent in this great City of ours.

We’ve sent mancunian made products to all corners of the globe, including to a princess in China and the American, German and Japanese ambassadors, and worked with some of Manchesters biggest institutions, Manchester Airport, GMCA, University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University and a string of hotels to mention just a few.

It’s a passion for the City and its artisans that drives us, we love finding new products and new local suppliers, and we live for the incredible feedback we get from our wonderful customers.

Look out for a number of new products launching in the coming weeks and months.
