✨ Kintsugi for Beginners

Discover the ancient Japanese art of Kintsugi with workshop leader Amelia Jane Gilding in this relaxing, creative and hands-on workshop.

Kintsugi, meaning “golden joinery”, celebrates wabi-sabi (侘寂) - the beauty found in imperfection. You’ll learn how to safely break pottery and repair it with gold, transforming cracks into beautiful, unique works of art.

🌟 During the workshop, you’ll:

- Receive your own toolbox containing everything you need for the day

-Learn Kintsugi techniques step by step

-Restore two ceramics to take home as beautiful mementos, ornaments or gifts

-Enjoy a mindful, meditative creative experience in good company

Amelia is a Gilt Frame, Objects, and Decorative Surfaces Conservator and Restorer with a master’s degree in Conservation of Cultural Heritage and over five years’ experience in the fine arts sector. She developed her Kintsugi technique specifically to make this beautiful art form accessible to beginners.
