Urmston Bookshop Urmston Books and Board Games is an independent family-run bookshop and board game cafe designed to celebrate stories, both for you and by you.

Welcome to the website of Urmston Bookshop which opened in October 2010. We are Sandra and Kevin Foy and Kathryn Banner and are very proud of the shop which has proved to be a great addition to Urmston town centre. We stock a range of titles for both adults and children together with specialist cards, stationery, gifts and many other educational toys and games. We also have a meeting room with an SMART Interactive board. This room is used for all different events from story times, author visits, book clubs to photographic exhibitions. Several schools have also used the room for book based staff meeting and in-service training. We look forward to meeting you soon! Sandra, Kevin and Kathryn.

COMPETITION TIME! Win one of our exclusive emergency bookmarks tote bags by showing us your own emergency bookmarks.

A greetings card, your Tesco Clubcard, a chopstick, a banana peel... the weirder, more random and truly bizarre they are, the better!

Post a picture of your emergency bookmark (in a book!), tag us and use the hashtag and we'll pick our favourite to win a tote. Only real emergency bookmarks will be considered – no AI. 🧐

Don't mind me! I'm just chilling with a stack of some of the great new books we've got in store this week, including beautiful signed and sprayed copies of L.K. Steven's Turncloak, and signed new releases from Sebastian Faulks, Michael Morpurgo and Caitlin Moran.

The start of the new academic year has brought with it lots of activity in schools, and we're so delighted to be part of it!
