This time of year my Etsy shop is always quiet. And I don’t tend to do markets until spring/summer. So I’m filling some of my time with fun projects.

My most recent make is this litter picking station for my local park. I often despair about the amount of litter that is on the streets and inside parks. But actions speak often louder than words so I regularly pick up litter and try to encourage others to do the same.

I was thrilled when the Friends of Cringle Park () asked me to make a litter picking station which is installed outside .
You can borrow the equipment and spend as little or as long as you want to litter pick in the park.
It’s made entirely out of pallet wood which I really enjoyed working with.

- I know you are passionate about litter picking. Maybe an idea for your local parks?

For Day 2 of the 7-day air pollution challenge, we are asked to consider two simple swaps: choose click-and-collect, or rethink a car journey.

Why?
* There are now a million more vans on UK roads than in 2014, the vast majority being diesel.
* The latest National Transport Survey revealed that 25% of UK car trips are under a mile.
Click-and-collect and rethinking car journeys by walking, wheeling or taking public transport are simple ways to cut air pollution.
I am trying to be conscious of car journeys and try to combine different errands into one journey or choose click and collect for some online purchases. Last week I chose to walk to my GP appointment (a six kilometre round trip).
Every small step helps.

What small change could you make today?

I’m taking part in the seven day challenge by - Clean Air Crowd.

Mums for Lungs is a really useful network of people who are concerned about the impact that air pollution has on children’s health.
One of the big parts of what they do is campaign for more school streets. Our local primary school is currently 13 months into a trial and it looks like we’ll get APRN cameras for the next school year.
Read more about school streets taken from the @ mumsforlungs Insta ⬇️

School Streets - when roads are closed to motor traffic on the school run - are simple but powerful. We love them because they:
* Make the journey to school safer by reducing levels of traffic and congestion at the school gate.
* Reduce air pollution around a school - research shows nitrogen dioxide levels have reduced by up to 23% where there is a School Street.
* Encourage walking, cycling and scooting to school, which strengthens bones and muscles, develops coordination, helps children maintain a healthy weight and improves mood, behaviour and confidence.

DON’T FORGET TO VOTE

I met Hannah Spencer yesterday. She seems really lovely and genuine.
I think in Gorton and Denton, left-leaning voters should back the Green Party to keep Reform out.
Labour could do with a wake-up call, and Hannah Spencer would be a strong, hardworking MP.

I’m not a natural runner. I hated running and PE generally at school. But when I turned 50 earlier this year, something shifted or clicked. I started a running programme over a 12 week period and today I completed it with being able to now run 3km in one go. I know that’s not a lot but to me it’s huge!!

So what better way to celebrate than order food from my favourite café Grounded MCR who are starting a delivery service as of today! If you live within 1.5 miles of Cringle Park, go and have a look. Link in their bio on or https://groundedmcr.square.site/

How lovely do the lights look on my display? ✨
At this time of year, I don’t think you can ever have to many little lights and candles in your home. 🕯️
There is something so simple and comforting about the flickering of a candle.
This was Sunday’s market at Prestbury. Thank you for organising such a fab festive fair.
My last market of the year is also with in Poynton. Sunday 14.12 at 11am to 4pm. Poynton Sports Club, SK12 1AG
It’s the perfect chance to finish that Christmas shopping 🎁 🎄

As much as I love colour, there is something beautiful about the simplicity of white and grey.
Took this photo today of some jesmonite items drying. These are going to an existing stockist who is expending her range. 👀
