🔧 Repair of the Week! 🔧

We had a call from a customer in Stretford with a real blast from the past – a 35-year-old Hotpoint washing machine! We joked that Noah from the Ark had asked us to come and take a look! 😄

The machine was struggling to turn, but after a thorough diagnosis, our engineer quickly found the fault. We fitted the required new parts and had it back up and running within the hour on the very first visit. 👨‍🔧✅

It’s always satisfying to keep these older appliances going. They really were built to last, and there’s nothing better than saving a customer the cost of a replacement.

Here’s hoping this old workhorse has many more years of service ahead of it! 💪🧺

Today we were called out to Warburtons in Bolton to take a look at their newly installed dishwasher showing a fault code. 👨‍🔧

After a quick inspection, we found the issue straight away. The dishwasher waste hose hadn’t been installed with a high loop, meaning the waste wasn’t sitting higher than the appliance outlet, which can cause drainage problems.

Safe to say “Jonathan” was pleased with our honest diagnosis – and even filled our tool bag with some Warburtons goodies! 🍞🥯😄 Thank you!

Top tip: If you’ve recently had an appliance installed, make sure the waste hose is routed higher than the appliance outlet before connecting to the waste spigot. It’s a simple installation detail that can save you from unnecessary faults and call-outs.

🚚 Another job completed! 🧺🔧

We delivered and installed a new washing machine in a first-floor utility room, (urmston) while also removing the old washer.

Due to the tight access, we carefully removed the door to get the appliances in and out safely. Once everything was installed and the job was complete, we re-fitted the door and left everything neat and ready to use. ✅

From delivery, removal and installation to dealing with awkward access — it’s all part of the service! 💪

Another productive day keeping laundry appliances running smoothly. 👨‍🔧🧺

A tumble dryer had suffered a motor failure, so we supplied and fitted a brand-new replacement motor. After thorough testing, the dryer was back up and running, ready for everyday use.

* ✅ A tumble dryer received a new motor, restoring it to full working order.
* ✅ A washing machine had a blockage caused by coins, nails, and other debris. Once cleared and checked over, it was draining and operating perfectly again.

Industrial Freezer Call-Out – The Importance of Defrosting ❄️

We were recently called out to an industrial freezer in a school canteen after being asked to attend before the unit had been fully defrosted.
One of the first things we recommend when a freezer isn’t performing correctly is carrying out a complete defrost. Excessive ice build-up around the evaporator coil can restrict airflow and eventually prevent the evaporator fan motor from operating efficiently. Without sufficient airflow across the evaporator, the cabinet will struggle to maintain temperature, even though the refrigeration system itself may still be functioning correctly.

Following inspection, we also found that the door gasket had come away from the door. A damaged or loose seal allows warm, moisture-laden air to enter the cabinet, which significantly increases frost formation on the evaporator. Over time, this can overwhelm the unit’s defrost cycle, leading to excessive ice build-up, restricted airflow, reduced cooling performance, increased energy consumption, and unnecessary service call-outs.

This is a good example of why a full defrost should always be carried out before an engineer is called whenever possible. It allows the refrigeration system to be assessed under normal operating conditions and often helps identify the root cause of the fault, rather than just the symptoms.

Routine maintenance, checking door gaskets, and ensuring doors close correctly are simple preventative measures that can improve efficiency, reduce energy costs, and extend the lifespan of commercial refrigeration equipment.

🔧 Repair of the Week! 🔧
This week we repaired an LG side-by-side fridge freezer for a customer in Bradbury after it displayed a fault code.
After diagnosing the issue, we found the freezer fan had failed. We replaced the faulty fan, tested the appliance thoroughly, and it’s now back to running perfectly.
Another happy customer and another appliance saved from being replaced! 💪❄️
