💛🤎 🏡 In February 2022, my dream became real and the hard work really began and taking a risk doesn’t cut it.

Fast forward to the present and,…. drum roll please, I will shortly be signing a new lease for the beaut of a building that I rent, meaning PoFfles is here to stay, for a long time, she ain’t going nowhere!

To everyone who supports me, as I sit here on my tod sobbing, thank you from the bottom of my PoFfles heart. To my current PoFfles family, my Husband, Shaun, Michelle, Sam, to name but a few, what you give me blows me away, your kindness is infectious. Talking of infection (the horrid kind), to the haters, the ones who told me I’d fail, might as well give up,… two words, it begins with F and ends, funnily enough, in F 😝!

That old proverb. “It takes a village…”, to the Woodhouse Community, thank you for embracing me, all that I am, all that I bring and all that I give,…. our roots are here to stay on the High Street… 💛🤎 🏡

💛🤎Sooooo, annual leave request number four has been approved for Shaun and he’s off on his holidays tomorrow.

I’ll miss this legend, more than he’ll ever realise. He’s not just my third arm, and he drives me up the wall and makes me laugh like no other, all in one sentence. He’s a heart of pure gold, and, ladies, he’ll find out your age within seconds of sparking up a chat and then tell the rest of Woodus,.. you’ve been warned!

He works his size 6 socks off for me but also has a lot of rest breaks and drains my teabag stock like you wouldn’t believe. Often found whistling, pot washing, babysitting and making milkshakes, his are the best.

Shaun isn’t just my Uncle, so when I say we’re family run, we truly are, he’s my work husband too … 💛🤎

💛🤎Strangers are just friends,… waiting to happen …

When I moved here in 2021, I only knew 6 people. I struggled with the lack of social interaction on a personal level, I mean I can chew my husbands ears off but,… you know what I mean. I’ve always kept my circle small, it’s who you have in your life, not how many and what. For some, they have nobody but I’ve created a safe place where people feel welcomed, valued and soon part of your family.

This is a before snap taken today of “The Pam Trinder Chatty Cafe” Table at PoFfles. A place where complete strangers become lifelong friends and it’s not an exclusive club, everyone is welcome, including our furry friends,… typo, especially our furry friends 🐾. There’s no seating plan, no agenda, you come for as long as you want,.. stay all day if you wish.

💛🤎Here he is again, Mr Mansfield Woodhouse, 1959 to (no end date), now and forever, modelling the tip jar!

This beaut of a jar was not only designed and crafted by Michelle Larratt, but Michelle is also one of my Volunteers who works selflessly and tirelessly to help not just me and PoFfles, but anyone and everyone who visits.

All of my Volunteers are just that, all that they give, and all that they do, for no financial gain. What they do gain is confidence, what they give is time, kindness and passion for the role…. the world is a better place for these amazing people and I’ll never take them for granted… 💛🤎

For as long as I can remember, these lovely ladies have been coming to PoFfles every week after their exercise class, “Move It Lose It”! A brew, a natter,… and cake, cos they can!

They’ve the most amazing SOH’s, I love listening and joining in with their banter,…. this is Community spirit at its best! How blessed am I … 💛🤎

💛🤎💙The people with the best vibe are the ones who naturally enjoy being kind to others. There’s no hidden agenda and they know how kindness has the power to make the day brighter,… that’s also an anagram of Drew Baxter - Celebrant..

Today I was blessed to be invited to the surprise retirement soiree for Drew at Mansfield Crematorium. Mr Mansfield, Mr Kind, Mr Caring and a true gent who has brought comfort to so many at some of the worst times in their lives.

This morning my hands were all over Drew…. purely in making some cakes with edible wafers!

The room at the Crem this afternoon was filled with those who have love and admiration for such a special man. To Drew and Jill - there’s a table with your names on it at PoFfles whenever you’re free and I’ll stock up on Lurpak … 💛🤎💙

I’m all for giving, but sometimes a polite no is just that! Over the past 48 hours I’ve had 12 messages alone asking for vouchers or donations for various events.

As a small business sadly I cannot say yes to everything (unless you want to pay my rent, bills and overheads)??? I do see a pattern in that a lot who ask don’t even follow my business, let alone support it and I’m sure many other businesses get this too! A tenner here, a tenner there, it soon adds up soooooo, please do come along and support my MacMillan Coffee Morning next Friday 25th September from 0915-1045, there you go, I’m asking you 😝!

I do support several organisations on a professional and personal level that mean a lot to me … thank you for your understanding … 💛🤎
