September is a great time to start a garden...

Despite the abundance on the farm, are thoughts are on next year's flowers. We're busy sowing hardy annuals and perennials and collecting seeds for spring sowing too

This sunflower is a self sown cross, so it's unique and gifted by the bees! We're saving seed but have to share the bounty with the finches who flock to the field for the seeds. A joy to see 🐦

Great perennial garden plants

We've got to be ruthless about what takes up space on the farm and these lovely plants didn't make the cut this year. They are great garden plants and can be used in a vase but there are other plants waiting for the space which have a higher yield

See an intrepid cosmos self seeded in the Welcome Garden, growing up through the table. Finding a way

I love to let the garden be a bit wild, in comparison to the controlled nature of the cut flower rows. Seeing plants appear year after year from seed each time in a new place brings me great joy 🌿
