Finding new angles and playing around with our display table today as new products dropped and old favourites got restocked.

Could these cotton placemats and coasters be any more Harbour & Tide?! Welcoming London designed brand Sprinkles to the store whose products are sure to bring joy to any table. Add some Sophie Home ~ colour•joy•purpose dishcloths and you’re fully checked!

We are finally restocked with our Resting Beach Face and Margate notebooks after a random sale a few weeks ago wiped out our entire stock. It was a bittersweet moment as we said goodbye to 30 notebooks in one go and then had to wait 2 weeks for new ones but they are back and twinning fabulously with Sock Sisters which I find really pleasing.

And fun for me but probably boring for you: we have a new sturdy rail on which to showcase our gorgeous wearables blankets and change robes. You can see the new season SITTINGSUITS designs in all their glory now and the rail matches the fitting room. Simple pleasures!

The sun is still shining here in Margate and hope it is with you too. We are open 7 days a week for all your colourful, beachy needs.

The irony isn’t lost on me. I run a beach shop inspired by sea swimming but really struggle to find time to get in the sea!

Between the shop, the school holidays and working everything around tide times, July and August swims are few and far between.

Then September arrives. The schools go back, the beaches empty out, and the sea sits just the right side of cool. I managed four dips last week and I’m still a bit giddy about it!

Margate’s been gorgeous all month and I’m so grateful the shop has stayed busy. But after a hectic summer, it’s lovely to finally have time to reflect, recalibrate and get back in the water.

Any other September swimmers out there? Where’s your favourite spot?

Absolutely delighted with my new display unit that has taken centre stage in the shop. I’ve really missed our centre table from the old store and this fills that gap perfectly. Big thanks to Bill for his excellent work.

Here it is from every angle. I can’t wait to bombard you with displays and photos over the coming months as our autumn stock arrives and we get ready for gifting season.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by today. It was super fun to work a buzzy Saturday for a change and I loved seeing you all.

We’ve had some seriously smiley deliveries today and I’m delighted about it! We already know that you love the wall tapestries made locally by Louise, Lulu's Decor because we can’t seem to keep them in stock! So I am super happy to say we had a bumper delivery today including these amazing supersized smiley faces, available in pink or blue.

And by a happy coincidence a new batch of smiley face mugs were dropped off a few hours later! These are also hand made and painted along the coast so each one is unique.

I’ve been moving things around a bit and have added some new bottles to the shelves in useful sizes : 260ml for handy handbag size drinks on the go.

We are open all weekend as we continue to enjoy a warm and sunny September. We can’t wait to see you!

I’ve been having a few days OOO which has been lovely but I’ve missed a few new deliveries that I’ve been super excited about and I’ve got shop FOMO! So IRL pics will have to wait until next week when I’m back and in the meantime I’ve made you all a nice flat lay instead ☺️

Here are a few of my favourite picks in store right now, and it’s a real mix of old favourites, fresh designs and new brands. From new season SITTINGSUITS to everlasting paper flower bouquets from Studio ROOF Autumn is looking colourful and cosy at Harbour & Tide.

And this is just the beginning, we’ve lots more to come. Anyone else excited about coat and socks season?!

Match your sherpa vest to your handbag, socks, pencil…. Yup we have a very colourful curation for you right now which is perfect to banish any potential autumn gloom that may have set in.

To be fair it’s still pretty warm in Margate but as we all know that could change any day and you will be delighted with yourself if you have invested in one of our gorgeous gilets. I am also excited to share the first look at new season Sittingsuits and to welcome brand new fleece lined change robes for adults and kids (yes you can twin) from women-led British outdoors brand TÖASTIE | Kids & Family Outdoor Clothing I will be doing a full try on and testing session next week so stay tuned!

In the meantime we continue to be open 7 days a week for all your last throws of summer/first days of autumn needs. Happy Friday folks!

Guys, I want your advice. Our beautiful new store on Market Street is in a listed building with loads of heritage, and I love the quirks of such a historic building. But the floor in this part of the shop is messing with the perfectionist in me, especially when I’m taking pics for on here!

So what should I do? Leave it as it is, it’s unique and special. Or cover it with a rug!

We’re open all weekend and will keep being open 7 days a week, with a slightly earlier close Monday to Weds at 4pm.

Moving shop right before the summer holidays felt like a slightly mad idea at the time. Turns out it was the best call we’ve made.

We love the new space, and it’s safe to say you do too. Being in one of the busiest spots in Margate has been incredible, but the bit that’s got us a bit soft is watching regulars and locals pop in just to say hello and see how we’re settling in.

A special mention to everyone who’s told us how relieved you are not to be climbing that hill anymore. We’re glad we could bring your favourite shop down to you 🤣

To everyone who came through the door or ordered online this August, thank you. The numbers speak for themselves, but you’re the reason behind every single one of them.

Here’s to a busy, sun-soaked, thoroughly bonkers first month. Onwards.

Rain, shine, or the classic British combination of both within the same ten minutes, we’re open all bank holiday weekend regardless. Whatever the Margate weather brings, so do we, umbrellas, sunnies, cosy jumpers, the lot. Come find on Market Street in the Old Town.
