Heritage Open Day at Newport Indoor Market Shropshire🧶

Come and have a go at traditional weaving with us this Saturday as part of Heritage Open Day!

I’ll be demonstrating peg loom weaving throughout the day — a wonderfully simple, traditional way of turning wool into beautiful woven pieces. You can stop by, watch how it works, have a chat about the craft, and peg looms will also be available to buy if you fancy having a go at home.

From 10am–12 noon, Carol and I will also be hosting children’s weaving, giving younger visitors the chance to get hands-on and try weaving for themselves.

🎉 One Year at Newport Indoor Market! 🎉

Wow! One whole year.

Have I made a living wage?

Probably not… 🤣

But what I have gained has been absolutely priceless.

I’ve made wonderful friendships, met an incredible community of makers and creators, had fascinating conversations about crafts, heritage, education and life, learned new skills, shared ideas, laughed a lot, regained confidence in myself and genuinely looked forward to coming to the market each week.

These things are priceless. ❤️
