Looking after your sisal carpet or rug
Natural flooring from companies such as Alternative Flooring is a beautiful way to add warmth, texture and character to your home. With a little care, your sisal carpet can stay looking its best for years to come.
Here are our top tips:
✔️ Vacuum regularly using the suction setting only (avoid rotating brush bars, as they can damage the natural fibres).
✔️ Clean up spills immediately by gently blotting with a clean, dry cloth – never rub.
✔️ Avoid soaking the carpet, as sisal is a natural fibre and excessive moisture can cause staining or shrinkage.
✔️ Use entrance mats to help reduce dirt and grit being walked onto the flooring.
✔️ Rotate rugs occasionally to ensure even wear and minimise fading from sunlight.
✔️ Keep furniture protectors under heavy items to prevent indentations.
Natural flooring is incredibly durable and brings timeless style to any room, but a little routine maintenance goes a long way.
