The White Horse Bookshop Multi-award winning independent bookshop in a beautiful Tudor building in the heart of Marlborough. Over 300,000 books online available for next day delivery.

Over 20,000 titles in store - 200,000 online books in the online bookshop. The multi-award winning White Horse Bookshop first opened its doors in 1943 and has stood on its present site - a 16th century townhouse in Marlborough, Wiltshire - since 1949. Although we are now much more than just a bookshop (we are also an online bookshop) we remain independent and inspiring readers of all ages continues to be our passion.

CURRENT ART EXHIBITION:

Work by the Malaysian-born artist and printmaker Yean Teo | Art is now showing in The White Horse Gallery until 25 October.

Yean studied Fine Art Painting at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Art in Singapore and Camberwell College of Arts, London, and holds an MA in Printmaking from Buckinghamshire New University. Her practice moves between painting, printmaking and Chinese ink painting, exploring material, process, memory and the relationship between tradition and contemporary life. Her work includes mokuhanga, non-toxic intaglio, oil painting and Chinese ink, often drawing on everyday imagery, cultural memory and the quiet details of life.

Yean is a member of the Greenwich Printmakers Association. Her work has been selected for exhibitions including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, the ING Discerning Eye, the Royal Society of British Artists and the National Open Art Prize. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally.

Wow, another year over for Marlborough Literature Festival!

We were kept busy over the festival weekend running book sales and author signings for more than 40 events in different venues across Marlborough, as well as running our pop-up festival bookshop in the Town Hall and hosting LitFest events in the bookshop, including: Lizzie Lewis Tall Tales Theatre 'Supertato' and Kev F's Comic Art Masterclass

Thank you to everyone who came and supported us during the festival, we hope you're now enjoying your new stack of LitFest-inspired reading😍
