I love seeing headbands out and about, especially when the scenery makes you look twice.

Charlotte out for a walk this morning, looks like proper countryside, but it’s actually along the canal in the middle of Leeds.

Definitely a day for being tripled up – scarf, gloves and a headband before you head out.

If you didn’t get round to buying a headband in November or December, it’s not too late. I still have a good stock in both sizes, ready to go.

If you’ve bought (or been gifted) a new headband for your little one recently, it’s worth popping a name label on the inside.

Especially if it’s heading off to school, Rainbows, ballet… or anywhere headbands like to wander off to 😉

I labelled my daughter’s as a joke when she lived in a student house , where the other girls all had Windmill headbands. One did go missing… and it found its way back again!

Wishing all my followers and customers a very Happy New Year ✨

Thank you for all the support, orders, messages and kind words over the past year. Windmill Handknits continues in no small part because of you.

As we step into 2026, I still have stock in most colours and a little space this week to knit a few more. If January brings crisp walks, I’m here if you need a cosy headband. Message me to start the process.

It’s got to that stage of the season.

These are the headbands I have left, one basket of Regular and one basket of Petite. Petites are knitted slightly shorter and fit younger children and women with smaller heads, the basket with the Christmas tree button 🎄

From here on in, I’m focusing on local customers, unless you’re happy for a posted order to arrive in the New Year. If you’re in Marlow I’m very happy to help you tick something off your Christmas to do list and provide free delivery.

At this time of year I set up my little stall in my hallway, ready for customers to pop in and browse. It’s lovely seeing people choose gifts for friends and family and then add an extra one for themselves once they try them on.

If you’re local and would like to come and see the colours in real life, just send me a message and we’ll arrange a time. I’m in Seymour Park Road in Marlow. Daylight is always best for choosing colours, but I’ll also put my colour booklet in the comments if you prefer to look through the options first.

If you are not quite there yet, I still have plenty of handknitted headbands ready to go, and they make brilliant gifts.

I have lots of colours available in two sizes:
Regular for most adults and teens
Petite for younger girls or smaller heads

All headbands are £8.50 each and can be collected from my home in Marlow, or I’m very happy to deliver in Marlow.

I have time this week to knit up a few one off colours, so I have had a rummage in my yarn cupboard and here's a selection:

Ice Pink, Raspberry, Magenta, Lilac, Pale Denim and Winterberry

There is enough of each to make one band, possibly two, so first come, first served.

Prices are:
£8.50 to collect from my home in Marlow
£12 posted (tracked) for one headband
£20 posted (tracked) for two headbands in the same parcel

All posted headbands are sent flat as large letter post, so they slip straight through the letterbox.
