Matlock Showroom is now open! We are here to make your big day as perfect and stress free as possible! Mark The Occasion Hire is our (Mark & Katie's) little venture wedding and party equipment hire, born from Katie's interest in all things "wedding" and her ability to make Mark make things! Based in Tansley, Matlock, we plan to make more wedding items for hire and grow Katie's passion for running her own business in a field she loves so please watch this space and like and share where possible.

Looking back at a few bits from the summer that we didn’t get chance to share at the time!

There’s always so much that goes on behind the scenes before we get to see everything come together for our couples… flowers, prepping, loading, unloading, setting up and all the little details in between 😂💐

We absolutely love looking back at what we’ve created and thought it was about time we shared a little peek!

Now we’re getting stuck into all the exciting things we’ve got coming up over the next few months 🤍

👋 A little bit about us…

We’re Mark & Katie, the faces behind Mark The Occasion Hire 🖤

We’re a small, family-run wedding décor hire & styling business based near Matlock, Derbyshire, and between us we spend our weeks turning vans full of arches, flowers, signs, lanterns, LED letters and all sorts of lovely things into wedding venues! 😂

We offer everything from those smaller finishing touches right through to full ceremony and reception styling — including arches, centrepieces, welcome signs, table plans, flower walls, 4ft LED letters, lanterns, backdrops, sweet carts and plenty more.

One of our favourite parts of doing this is that no two weddings are ever quite the same. We get to meet loads of brilliant couples, work at some amazing venues across Derbyshire and the surrounding areas, and then see months of planning finally come together on the day. 🥰

A venue we’ve been lucky enough to visit a few times now 🤍

The Wildes has several lovely spaces for weddings, but their outdoor ceremony area is definitely worth a mention — especially on a day when the weather behaves! 😂

We’ve always had a really good experience whenever we’ve been there too. The staff have been great with us on every visit, and it’s easy to see why The Wildes is such a well-known wedding venue around Chesterfield.

We’d love to be back there for plenty more weddings in the future.

A little throwback with this one 🤍

Back on 21st August 2024, our brand new rustic MR & MRS letters had their very first outing for the lovely Jessica & Owen at Ringwood Hall.

We’d actually made the letters with their wedding in mind, and we remember being ridiculously proud when we stood back and saw them set up for the first time 😂

Two years later they’ve been out to plenty more weddings, but Ringwood Hall will always be where they started.

It’s a lovely venue and one we’d really like to work at more often. It’s also had another Wallace family visit recently, as Lana had her prom there a few months ago!

We now have an exclusive MTOH venue offer available for couples getting married at Ringwood Hall too.
