“Nature, left to her own devices, finds it hard to produce anything that is ugly” - David Austin

Although referencing his roses when he said this, for us, this mantra applies to everything we do and grow here. We have been florists for close to a decade now and have always prized British grown flowers for their ability to provide something special and unique. We haven’t always found it easy howev

er to find and source locally grown flowers, which is how we began our growing journey. We aim to provide our customers with quality produce in the quantity they require and we find that this is best achieved by working in harmony with mother nature and the seasons which is why we strive to follow sustainable and organic growing practices. Needless to say we are passionate about all things floral, but equally important to us is providing others with opportunities to discover a passion of their own.

Did you know we have two beehives here at the farm? 🐝

You might even have spotted our bees busy feasting on the flowers while you’ve been visiting.

The wonderful team at Bees in the Borough Honey Co who look after our hives, are hosting a beehive-making class in our barn this October.

Whether you’re already keeping bees and have always fancied making your own hive, or you’re just starting out on your beekeeping journey, this is such a lovely opportunity to learn a new skill and get hands-on.

Head over to their profile for all the details and maybe I’ll see you there… 😉

A little look back at a beautiful evening in the flower field.

Flowers to pick, cocktails to sip and golden hour stretching out across the farm. The perfect way to spend a summer evening with good people, beautiful flowers and a little time to slow down.

A huge thank you to Maz | Family, Lifestyle & Wedding Photographer | Derbyshire + UK for capturing the evening so beautifully and to outbuilding for always being up for anything and bringing all the vibes. We couldn’t have asked for a better evening.

Can’t wait to do it all again at Septembers Pic ‘n’ Sip 🌸🍸

The stars of the August flower farm 🌻

One of my absolute favourites, the sunflower, putting on quite the show right now.

It’s a two-wedding week for us this week, so if you’ve sent an email or DM, please bear with us if replies are a little slower than usual.

Just three weddings left this year. I can’t quite believe we’re nearing the end of another wedding season! 🤍

Ever wondered what it’s really like to create wedding flowers? 🌸

Come and spend a day with us at the flower farm and learn the art of wedding floristry from the ground up.

Our Introduction to Wedding Floristry Masterclass is a hands-on day designed for beginners, flower lovers and anyone curious about turning beautiful seasonal flowers into wedding-worthy designs.

You’ll tour the farm, learn about sourcing and conditioning flowers, watch a bridal bouquet demonstration and then create your own. After lunch, we’ll dive into large-scale, foam-free floristry all while sharing our tips, experience and plenty of time for questions.

And the best part? You’ll leave with your very own hand-tied bridal bouquet.

Whether you’re planning your own wedding, dreaming of a career in floristry or simply fancy spending a day surrounded by flowers, we’d love to welcome you to the farm.

Flowers, creativity, lunch and a whole lot of inspiration. 🌿

Seed saving has started in earnest 🌱

After such a tough year for the flowers, with the heat and lack of rain meaning everything is going over so quickly, collecting seed for next year feels like a welcome reminder of what’s still to come.

There’s something so hopeful about saving a handful of seeds from this season and knowing that, in a few months’ time, they’ll be the beginning of a whole new growing season. A little bit of promise when it feels like we’re still battling our way through this never-ending heat.

And I’m very excited to finally share that we’ll be selling our own seeds too! I’m hoping to have them available on the website, as well as in our little pop-up shop during events and Pick Your Own, from September.

So while this season may not have been quite what we hoped for, we’re already looking ahead to the next one. 🌱

S P R I N G

Today I ordered ALL the tulips and ranunculus for spring 2027… and I’m already ridiculously excited about it.

There’s something so lovely about planning for a season that feels a lifetime away, although it does highlight the fact that there really is no downtime in flower farming. While we’re right in the middle of our peak summer season, we’re also sowing, planting, ordering and planning for the seasons ahead.

And this year, I’ve gone big.

I’ve invested heavily in both tulips and ranunculus, so I hope you’re all ready for a very flowery spring 2027!

Florists I’ve tripled the amount of ranunculus I’m growing for wholesale, so if you have lots of May weddings coming up, there should be plenty of beautiful British-grown stems for you.

And for everyone else… our Tulip PYO is going to be something rather special. I’ve personally chosen every single variety to create a really beautiful mix of fancy, unusual and utterly gorgeous blooms. I cannot wait to see them all flowering together.

We’ll also have bulbs for sale this autumn, which I’m VERY excited about. I’ve picked some particularly special varieties that I know will look incredible in the garden come spring.

Spring is probably my favourite time of year at the farm, although I’ll be honest… the last few years have been a little challenging. Tulips can be notoriously hit and miss, and there’s always a bit of a nervous wait to see what actually makes it through the winter.

But this year I’m going with the attitude of go big or go home.

So, spring 2027… let’s do this.

And if it isn’t fabulous? Well, at least I know I’ve done my very best. 🌷
