My first Raku on Friday was a great experience, nerve-racking, smoky and exciting! It was suggested I make something small and smooth. I made some owls of course but also found these old rusty callipers (bird heads) which needed bodies. The Raku glaze was slapped on, and in just an hour or two, some great teamwork and over 1000 degrees, this technicolour range of colours emerged. Such an interesting process thank you Kat Kat and Jonathan Johnathan Franklin for organising it.

Enjoying the early autumn/late summer sunshine. Three gimlet owls, large brown SOLD. Two fresh from the barrel firing the third I have finished with gesso, acrylic ink and wax. I think these are my favourite finishes so far.
