Team member catch report! A quick weekend session on the local park lake produced an unforgettable reward in the shape of this stunning dark mirror.
For this trip, I introduced a generous spread of boilies across an area roughly the size of a tennis court, finishing the presentation with bright pineapple pop-up. The first night passed quietly, but I had confidence in the spot and decided to leave the rods exactly where they were, trusting that the fish would eventually move through the area.
That decision proved to be the right one!
At around 5pm, the middle rod absolutely tore off, leading to an incredible battle before I finally slipped the net under this beautiful dark mirror.
Sessions like this are a reminder that patience, confidence in your approach, and sticking to the plan can make all the difference.

A good friend of ours and well known angler in the big carp scene .barratt joined us on the sub carp social and unsurprisingly was the first off the mark. Wayne has bundles of experience and quietly goes about his business constantly producing results. Wayne was a team member in the early days leaving only because of other commitments but the knowledge he has passed on over the years has been priceless and is always welcome on any subcarp events.
