Right… I’ve earned this beer!

Today was f* #%*g brutal. 😂

Gale force winds, torrential rain, me and Ben spending basically the entire day holding onto my gazebo for dear life so it didn’t end up halfway down the road.

And after all that?

I didn’t make much money.

Actually, when you take off the market fee, diesel, stock and everything else that goes into setting up for a market… it really wasn’t a profitable day at all.

And that’s the bit people don’t always see with small businesses.

You see a £3.50 bag of wax melts and think “I can get something cheaper in Tesco for £2.”

And honestly? You absolutely can.

But when you spend that £2 or £3 with a small business, you’re not just buying wax melts.

You’re helping someone pay for their wax, fragrance, packaging, labels, insurance, market fees, fuel and hopefully making a tiny bit of profit for all the hours that go into it.

Today reminded me just how much goes into turning up and doing this.

So to everyone who did buy something, have a chat, recommend me to someone, help hold down the gazebo…thank you. It genuinely does make a difference.

Now I’m going to sit down, have my beer and pretend I wasn’t nearly blown into the next county today!!
