Brief report post Potfest Haughley. No haul to show! Boo. Lightshades have gone down a storm with several sold and three commissions already - thank you! But mostly thank you to the potters, old friends and new, who’ve just been such a joy to be with, when I was mourning the loss of my Glass&Ceramics Degree Show 2026 crew. Much love to Belinda Glennon Ceramics and Danny O'Connor my immediate neighbours (remember the hot ginger thing) Jack Durling and Andrew Pentland Ceramics and Cabby (sorry I missed you at pack up) and all the beauts in a hot dusty field in Suffolk. And of course all the Potfest crew for making it happen.
Going to sleep until Tuesday xx

Yeah! It’s Potfest Haughley Park Weddings&Events in Suffolk, and I’m giddy as a fish. Snaps of the set up and my competition piece, then the lovely Andrew Pentland Ceramics stand, my filthy feet (so dry and dusty) and my little dog, enjoying his hols ‘darn sarf’. Xx

What a week! Managed to decant myself from University of Sunderland with only one casualty (sorry ,big fat potters fingers again), unloaded a glaze firing only to have to grind every.single.teapot to make the lids fit (I loathe porcelain), stocktake and reloadthe car, and now sitting in the garden in the rain, cos I can.
See you Potfest Haughley Park from Friday - please come, I neeeeed you ###

And just like that it really is all over.
I have been unbelievably lucky to have been a part of the last chapter University of Sunderland National Glass Centre with this bunch of totally amazing humans. I had always wanted to study glass, so took the plunge when I heard the course was closing, and it has been the best decision I have ever made. I had been in the enviable position of being at home with my children and running a business around that (thanks, Stevie), but this was just for me. I got to try things and meet people and relearn how to learn (although I never mastered any of the techy stuff like Tapestry or online libraries (wtf even are they)). I made things I like (and some I don’t) with no expectations and massive amounts of support, and I will always be grateful to the academics, technicians and fellow students who supported and put up with me. It is sad to think the fate of these people has been overshadowed by the fuss about the NGC building closing, but I know how resilient, resourceful and creative they all are, and so have massive hopes for the initiatives being set up Harbour Studios CIC and Glassworks - watch this space.
So now back to earth. My little dog has become completely Velcro after two manic weeks, so I will be sitting in my caravan on the drive with him, not putting all my stuff away, or hosting any more overnighters (planned or impromptu) for a while, but I really do need to get that batch of pots glazed for Potfest at Haughley Park next week….
Much love to you all

So this was the Opening Night of our Masters Show ‘Conclusion’, and what a night! Thank you so much to everyone who came, we all really appreciated it. And my F&Fs - what a crew! I love you all so much, thank you for making it such a special time! I was so busy gassing that I didn’t take a single photo, but have been sent these - again thanks. And the recent grads who manned the bar - well done you lot! Oh, and I won the Best in Show award! Such a happy old potter today, my cup is truly overflowing. Much love xx

It’s almost upon us! Four weeks today I will be putting up my Masters Degree Show. Blimey. I’d love it if you could come and see it - if you can do the PV let me know and I’ll message you celebratory deets, or if you’re coming during the week let me know and I’ll make sure I’m there to explain the demented-weasel shenanigans of my brain. Much love xx uni

It’s been a while! Little update of work in progress, processes in progress (eternal thanks to Jim, Jo, Tim and Sean) latest sketchbook musings, the Nicest Cheesecake Ever made by .wxx (thank you!) and a recap of her and the rest of our BAs work on show until tomorrow (Saturday) at 4pm. If you’ve not been you’re missing out, go immediately. Much love xx
