If you know me in real life you know that I don't just crochet. I try my hand at just about every craft I can! Christmas and birthdays are my favorite because I find so much joy in creating thoughtful, personalized gifts when I can. This year I made my first stash box and now I'm kinda obsessed 😍 I am so pleased with how this turned out, PLUS it was really fun to create.
This started out as a plain brown painted box. After sanding it down I burned the top emblem and toadstools on the front. Stained it, then added the vinyl decals. The 3D toadstools, leaves, and vines are made by me out of clay then painted. The 🌿 are cut from some green leather I already had, and the little snail on front is a resin Amazon find. Lastly I had some moss mats leftover from my Halloween village that I cut out and stuck on. ❤️

This was created as a gift for a sweet friend, who is due to meet her baby girl in just a few weeks!
I have never added backing to my blankets so this was a learning experience for me, but I think it turned out pretty well for my first try!

*Pattern is a mixture of my own design, a sampler pattern, and a book of stitches I've had since I began crocheting 12 years ago!

*fellow yarnists, you may notice the discolored square at the end of the "y". All yarn was from the same skein but apparently something happened in the weaving process. Working so closely to the project I did not notice the difference until the entire panel was finished 😞 pretty unhappy with red heart over that*
