Large Antique 19thC French Overmantel Mirror (Beautifully Distressed) £195.00

We have this beautiful antique French Louis Philippe style overmantel mirror. It has the classic rounded top corners, ribbed detailing on the frame, and the original little wooden block feet at the bottom corners designed to sit on a fireplace mantel.
It is completely untouched and has a ton of authentic character, perfect if you love that heavily distressed, shabby chic, or country house look.

The best part about this mirror is the back! It still has its original Victorian transit labels completely intact. There’s an old North Eastern Railway paper sticker from Newcastle Station, along with gorgeous old handwritten ink addressing it to a "Robert Garbutt Esq" to be collected at Malton Station in Yorkshire. It completely tells the story of how it traveled by steam train down to Yorkshire in the 19th century.

The gold frame has natural chips, flakes, and age wear to the plaster/molding, which gives it a great patina. The mirror glass itself is heavily aged and cloudy/foxed, giving it that really moody, atmospheric antique reflection you can't fake with modern replicas. The backing paper is fragile and torn in places, but the historic labels are safely attached.

Vintage Wooden Firescreen with Large Needlepoint Tapestry Panel £50.00

A freestanding vintage wooden firescreen which has a highly detailed, hand-stitched needlepoint tapestry panel.
The tapestry depicts a charming, traditional interior scene of an elderly couple, complete with a spinning wheel, a small dog at their feet, and rustic home details.

It is housed in a solid wood frame with classic shaped support feet.

In good vintage condition. The woodwork is sturdy with minimal age-related wear, and the tapestry colors remain clear.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Antique 1784 “The History of England” – Complete 4 Volume Set ** SOLD **

Lovely antique set of The History of England by Dr. Goldsmith, complete in 4 volumes.

Dating from 1784, these are genuine 18th-century books with beautifully decorative leather bindings and gilt detailing to the spines.

They are in fair condition for their age, with lots of wear and signs of age to the covers and spines, including cracking, worn leather and areas of loss. The bindings are tired but the books remain intact inside. The pages have the expected age-toning and some foxing, adding to their genuine antique character.

A lovely set for an antique book collector, restoration project, or simply as decorative old books with plenty of character.

£60 for the complete set of 4 volumes.

Vintage Brown Chesterfield Wingback Armchair ** SOLD **

Lovely vintage Chesterfield-style wingback armchair with a deep button-tufted back, rolled arms and decorative stud detailing.

It’s an antique brown colour with a lovely distressed, aged look. I’m unsure whether the upholstery is genuine or faux leather, so selling it as unknown.

The chair is structurally sound, comfortable and perfectly usable as it is. It has some general surface wear consistent with its age and style.

There is a small tear to the seat cushion, which could easily be covered with a throw or cushion.

One of the bottom castors is damaged and would need a simple repair or replacement. This is reflected in the price, but it doesn’t affect the chair’s use.

It would have originally the base of a small table.
These are often used as candle holders or can be turned into a lamp base.

It has decorative intricate carvings of female dancers, elephants and dragons.

Solid and heavy. Not sure of the material, but it feels good quality.
