Very exciting news...
Minehead Community Bookshop has officially been named a finalist in the BBC Radio Somerset Make a Difference Awards in the Community Group Award category 🏆👏😃
This is such an incredible honour and we are so proud to be nominated, let alone being considered as a finalist!
Thank you to anyone who nominated us, it's amazing to feel so appreciated by our community for what we do. We want to give a huge shout out to all of our volunteers who make our bookshop possible. We couldn't do it without our incredible team and it's genuinely a privilege to be part of it. Thank you also to everyone who donates, and all of our wonderful customers who keep the shop running.
For those who don't know what we do at the community bookshop, we are 100% not-for-profit and volunteer run bookshop selling preloved books. You can take the books you need, and simply leave an anonymous donation if you can. The donations pay for the costs to keep the shop open. And then, if there is any money left over, it is donated to local schools and children's groups.

📚 We rotate our stock regularly to ensure a good selection for everyone
🔍 We are a great place to find unusual books that can't be found elsewhere
♻️ We save thousands of books from landfill
💲 We have raised thousands of pounds for local good causes, particularly in schools.
🙏 Our volunteers all work together and are really lovely team, forming friendships within the shop.
