A huge thank you to everyone who came (and braved the heat!) to the two packed and fantastic concerts and to those who came to try the new basses out. What a brilliant couple of days meeting new people and seeing old friends.

Special thanks to the amazing musicians, Max Lamprecht, Alex Robson, Jerome Ness, and Ewan Hastie, Tom Cawley, David Ingamells.

Finally, thanks to Glenn and Liz at 1901 Arts Club for being such great hosts. If you live in London, go and check out their listings. They do great things, and it's a beautiful venue.

Max Lamprecht will perform at 1901 Arts Club on the evening of Thursday 30th July 2026

Max Lamprecht is a double bassist born in Austria. He studied at the City of Edinburgh Music School before continuing his training at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where he worked with Leon Bosch and Nikita Naumov.

He is a member of the Sinfonia Smith Square Fellowship Orchestra, performing regularly as part of its concert series.
Max performs as both a soloist and chamber musician, with an interest in performing new music aswell as enjoying the classics.

In 2024, he gave the British premiere of the Walter Ross Concerto for Double Bass.

As part of the 10 year anniversary celebrations Heppleston Double Basses is proud to present a night of music with Ewan Hastie at 1901 Arts Club on the evening of Wednesday 29 July 2026.

Joining him for this performance are friends and familiar faces on the scene, coming together for an evening of exciting music consisting of classic American songbook standards.
