This July sees the tenth anniversary of Heppleston Double Basses, a milestone I’m very happy to be celebrating.

To mark the occasion, I will be hosting two days of events on the 29th and 30th of July at the 1901 Arts Club, in London. The programme will feature evening concerts by Ewan Hastie and Max Lamprecht alongside a daytime exhibition presenting two newly crafted double basses.

I will have new 4-string and 5-string double basses available to try.

If you are interested in trying these instruments, please send me a message, and I will arrange an appointment for you. As availability is limited, I would be grateful if you could indicate your preferred date, either the 29th or 30th of July.

What I've been up to recently.

I'm currently making a few different instruments. Notably a new 5 string gamba and a four string violin corner double bass, alongside a couple of other interesting little projects.

This month, I've been mostly carving the arching and hollowing the front and the backs.

Of all the different jobs that have to be done to make a double bass and to run a business, this is my absolute favourite.
