This embroidered piece was inspired by the beautiful pebble beach in B**r, Devon - a very special place for our family 🩷. I lost count of the hours spent on this work, especially stitching the countless French knots that form the pebbles. To create a sense of perspective, I used two-thread knots in the distance and gradually increased the thread count towards the foreground. The greenery on the rocks were quite freeing to stitch; it allowed me to loosen up and embrace a little messiness... I'm used to placing my stitches very precisely!
