K&G Chocolates is a very small independent chocolate business based in the beautiful Clwydian Range in North Wales. Let me introduce myself...I'm Kev and I have over 35 years experience as a chef and whilst working in Canada had the opportunity to work for Valley Chocolate

s in Nova Scotia where I learnt the art of Chocolate making……it’s been a hobby/passion for a number of years since those days. After becoming disillusioned by the Catering Industry, I decided to give my hobby a go as a small business, so K&G Chocolates started in November 2018 and luckily the business has managed to survive and keep going through Covid-19. I am still very much developing and learning from the whole experience. I hand make all the chocolates in my chocolate workshop in Mold which K&G have moved into inn 2021 after having been based in Summer Hill, Wrexham. As my partner Gill and I both grew up in Mold, we were keen to find a premises for K&G Chocolates in our local community. We were lucky enough to find a premises that provides enough space for not only the chocolate workshop but also space from which to sell Chocolates and offer an Artisan Pop Up facility. I specialise in handmade filled Belgian chocolate truffles and regularly introduce new flavours, alongside handmade chocolate bars and Children's chocolates. I can cater for Wedding Favours, Party Bags and any Special Occasions, I will always work with you to ensure that the chocolates are all you wished for

🍫❤️ HAPPY INTERNATIONAL CHOCOLATE DAY! ❤️🍫

Sunday 13th September is International Chocolate Day — and quite honestly, we think that's a very good reason to celebrate! 😋🍫

But have you ever wondered why chocolate gets its very own day?

International Chocolate Day is a chance to celebrate everything we love about chocolate — from the humble cocoa bean and the fascinating history behind it, to the incredible variety of chocolate we enjoy today.

The 13th September is commonly associated with the birthday of Milton S. Hershey, the American chocolatier and founder of the Hershey Chocolate Company, who was born on this date in 1857. The exact origins of International Chocolate Day itself aren't entirely clear, but the date has become a popular opportunity for chocolate lovers everywhere to celebrate! 🍫❤️

And how do people celebrate?
Well… there are lots of ways! 😍
🍫 Enjoying your favourite chocolate bar
🍰 Baking something delicious with chocolate
🎁 Giving chocolate as a gift to someone special
🍫 Holding chocolate tastings and trying different varieties

For us here at K&G Chocolates, we think celebrating chocolate is about so much more than simply eating it. We love sharing the story behind chocolate, talking about where it comes from and, of course, creating delicious treats for you to enjoy! 🐭🍫

Calling all little witches, wizards, chocolate lovers and grown-up chocolate enthusiasts! it’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for…..the launch of this year’s Halloween Chocolate Workshops

🕷️Join us for our Spooktacular Halloween Chocolate Workshop, including:-

🍫 A brief history of chocolate – discover a little about where chocolate comes from and how it makes its way from cocoa bean to delicious treat!

⛲ Chocolate Fountain & Goodies – because what's a chocolate workshop without a chocolate fountain?! 😋 You'll have goodies to dip throughout the session.

🕸️ Make Your Own Halloween Chocolate Bar – create your very own spooky spider's web chocolate bar! 🕷️🍫

👻 A Dipped Halloween Marshmallow – another deliciously spooky treat to make and enjoy!

And, of course, plenty of chocolatey fun along the way! 🍫

We’re pleased to say that we will be attending The Mold Food & Drink Festival on Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th September, from 10am–5pm, this year marks the 20th Anniversary of the Festival!

We’re particularly excited because you’ll find K&G Chocolates in The Totally Mold Marquee, alongside some fantastic local small producers and businesses, all coming together to celebrate everything that Mold has to offer. ❤️

As a small, independent business based right here in Mold, we absolutely love being able to be part of events that showcase the incredible talent, creativity and passion of local businesses and producers. There really is something special about seeing so many local businesses come together and say “this is what Mold has to offer!” 🥰

There’s lots going on all through the weekend, from fantastic food and drink, artisan producers, live music, demonstrations and plenty of opportunities to discover some wonderful local businesses. There will also be pop-up pubs, bakery and brewery showcases, with producers and chefs getting the chance to demonstrate their skills and share what they do.

The festival runs both Saturday and Sunday, so there's plenty of time to come along, have a wander, enjoy the atmosphere and discover something delicious! 🍴🍺🎶

And of course… we'll be bringing CHOCOLATE! 🍫
We'll have our full range of Fairtrade chocolates with us, including our beautiful Catherine Jones Art chocolate bars, combining delicious chocolate with stunning artwork inspired by the Welsh landscape. 🎨🍫
