An Evening with Tom Hindle
Mold Library & Museum, Mold, CH7 1AP Wednesday 16th September 2026 @ 7pm

Get ready for a killer night of crime fiction with Sunday Times bestselling whodunit mastermind Tom Hindle.

Originally hailing from Leeds, Tom Hindle lives in Oxfordshire with his wife and daughter, an overly opinionated cat and two surprisingly cunning tortoises. Specialising in contemporary whodunits, he is a Sunday Times bestselling author who has twice seen his novels chosen as Waterstones Thriller of the Month.

When he isn’t thinking about elaborate ways to murder imaginary people, Tom can often be found murdering houseplants instead or helping to bring about the death of fashion by still insisting in his thirties on wearing the same Converse All Star he fell in love with at fourteen. He's even occasionally threatened with murder himself, often as a result of his inability to walk past a piano or a guitar without playing a tune.

A Killer In Paradise:- The trip of their dreams is about to end in murder. When five old friends are invited to join Abigail Blythe at the launch of her luxury hotel in the Costa Rican rainforest, they jump at the chance to spend a week in paradise. None of them have heard from Abigail since the summer they went backpacking in Central America as students – a trip that ended in disaster for one member of the group. . .

We are so excited to announce our interactive family event with Caryl Lewis this November! 🎨📚🔖

Multi-award-winning children’s author, screenwriter and novelist behind the acclaimed book Martha, Jac a Sianco, Caryl Lewis will be joining us to celebrate the release of her latest book for children, The Paper Girl. As the title suggests, the story follows a girl made of paper, who is encouraged to change shape into a flower, a fox, and other animals, to try to impress others, or fit in- this is, until, she does something truly special- and says no. Accompanied by exquisite papercut artwork from début illustrator Kanako Abe, Caryl’s latest book is a powerfully-written tale, teaching young readers the importance of self-acceptance and the power of saying no.

At this interactive event, Caryl will share the inspiration behind the story, before leading a fun paper-folding and origami-themed workshop. Aimed at children aged between 4-8, this special interactive event is perfect for young children and families. The session will explore creativity, confidence and the magic of storytelling through paper.

Our Staff Pick this week is Giovanni’s Room by James Baldwin🚪

First published in 1956, this week’s pick is a beautifully written and moving classic that deserves a place on every reader’s shelf! Although this is certainly not a new release, we recommend that anyone who has not yet read it picks up a copy.

Giovanni’s Room follows David, an American living in Paris, whose life becomes increasingly complicated when he begins a relationship with Giovanni- a young Italian bartender. As David struggles with love, identity and the expectations placed upon him, the novel explores the consequences of denying who we truly are. This novel is a short but unforgettable read, filled with complex characters and wonderfully written prose.

Giovanni’s Room can be found in-store, or via the link below. ❣️
