To my former customers, and those that stumble across this page.

I had the privilege of meeting this lovely little boy and his amazing family on a Campervan trip to the Swansea area in 2022. We both had the same cancer - just 1 in a million get it.

I don't have the same faulty gene as Morgan, his sister or father (Li Fraumeni) but have another inherited faulty gene (Lynch Syndrome) which was the cause of my first cancer Adrenal (not tested for the faulty gene at the time, as only 2-3 % of cases are associated) and subsequently my next cancers Ovarian & Endometrial. I am very lucky to have survived all three (so far!), and now under surveillance for life as I am at risk of others.

It is estimated that 1 in 400 people in the UK have Lynch syndrome but just 5% are aware they are living with the condition. It is primarily associated with Bowel and Endometrial Cancers.

This isn't a post about feeling sorry for myself, I never have.

It's a post about not being afraid to get genetically tested if you or a close family member have ever had cancer that is potentially hereditary.

Having regular surveillance, preventative surgery or sometimes simple daily medication (in my case low dose aspirin to prevent bowel cancer) is better than having cancer - or losing your life or a family member to the disease

Ask questions of the professionals, do your own research and most importantly -
Be brave! It could save your life, or that of a loved one.
