We bring the sad news that Julia Edwards, of Mickleton, passed away suddenly on the 18th September 2026, aged 68 years.
An adored wife, mother & grandmother, she will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.

Julia's funeral service will take place at St Michael & All Angels Church, Guiting Power, on Tuesday 13th October at 1:30pm.

Donations in memory of Julia will be gratefully received for St Michael & All Angels Church and Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. These can be made in the collection box at the service, sent by post to us at Allen & Son, or online using the link below:

More than half of people feel that playing a loved one's favourite music is what gives a funeral it's true meaning (my Nan was a practical joker, and always laughing, so chose "Always Look On The Bright Side of Life" to be played as we left the church!)

We bring the sad news that Frank McPhilimey, of Bourton-on-the-Water, passed away on the 2nd September 2026, aged 84 years.
He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

Frank's funeral service will be held at St Lawrence Church, Bourton-on-the-Water on Friday 25th September at 12:00pm.

We wanted to say a huge thank-you to everyone who came in to see us yesterday at our coffee morning.

It was a lovely day and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves chatting, eating cakes, and trying their luck on the tombola and raffle. We heard many people say "I haven't seen you in ages", which is so nice that they got to catch up with old friends, and make some new ones too.

And, of course, all of the generous donations you made came to an incredible £525.00 for Cotswold Friends - THANK YOU!!!

All of the raffle winners have been notified and happily collected their prizes.

Today is the day of our coffee morning - the tombola table is ready, we have delicious home baked cakes, and some great raffle prizes -
An afternoon tea hamper, voucher for Afternoon Tea for Two from The White Hart Royal Hotel, gift voucher for a Two Course Meal for two at The Red Lion, Long Compton and a £30 gift voucher to spend at The Bay Tree Florist, Chipping Campden.

Another week has flown by, and here we are, already in September, with a distinct change in the weather!

Everyone says that life goes quicker the older you get, and it seems so true, as we all get wrapped up in our day-to-day activities.
