I am delighted to share that my Father, Ralph Price has finally printed his very own memoir.

It has been a couple of years in the making, but here we are with physical copies on the shelf!!

Dad grew up in Adlestrop and so, has a lot of memories of his upbringing, the village and villagers, past to present day.

It also touches on his personal achievements, including the re-hanging of the Adlestrop church bells, which he is very proud of.

Proudly decorated the front of the Post Office tonight in readiness for VJ Day on Friday 15th August.
A poignant day for living here, as his Father Cyril fought in the Far East against the Japanese in India and Burma.
He, along with his comrades fought in the most grueling conditions, fighting against a vicious enemy, who needed to be stopped, and that they did. The battle against the Japanese brought the whole world to peace, although this was another 3 months after victory in Europe.

Sometimes known as the 'Forgotten' army, they are certainly not that in Adlestrop.

Cyril was awarded the Burma Star ⭐

Luckily he came home and lived at the Post Office with his Wife Dorothy (Then Post Mistress) who lived a happy and full life until his death in 1990.

We will remember them.

A huge congratulations is needed today as today is the day 20 years ago that Angie Price (Mum) took over Adlestrop Post Office.
She is a credit to the village and the wider community having served the villages of Bledington and Oddington as well through an outreach service.

👏🏼 Amazing achievement and we are very lucky to have you and the services you provide, not to mention the beautiful gift and souvenir shop you run in Adlestrop along side.
