THE WAR ON GREENWASHING: DAY 6
This is the latest scorecard for online florists as produced by The Ethical Company Organisation and it’s where Arena Flowers get the title The UK’s Most Ethical Florist.
Have a look at the criteria.
Organic Blooms lose points because they don’t use FairTrade flowers (Er.. that’s because they grow all their own flowers here in the UK.)
Organic Blooms lose points because they don’t import flowers…
Importing flowers is ethical?
Then they carelessly drop more points by failing to be Ethically Accredited.
If only they’d paid an annual minimum of £250 + VAT to The Ethical Company Organisation for TECO’s own Ethical Accreditation, it could have been so different.
Paying money to increase your appearance of being ethical is hideous and immoral.
… BUT NOT AS REPULSIVE AS BEING THE COMPANY DEMANDING THE MONEY.
The Ethical Company Organisation are not ethical.
It would be funny if it wasn’t so awful.
I feel a bit sick.

Garden inspired table runner with a tricky glass candelabra . Before I knew better I used floral foam for this design ( back in 2017 I think ) I could recreate it now without foam... without harming our beautiful planet. Working without floral foam is liberating and exciting.

Woven pieces of dried flowers: helichrysum , bunny tails, tiny artichoke leaves , poppy seed heads, scabious stellata, dried fern, dried rose ( just the one ) honesty seed heads, wild clematis ( old mans beard ) dried gypsophlia, dried hog w**d ( but not hog w**d coz that's poisonous- can't remember its name) .
