February 🌧️
1. My Ladybird hunt continued. Managed to add quite a few to my collection including the sought after Danger Men!

2. Spent a nice afternoon fixing Christian's pianola. Armed with a maintenance manual and no real knowledge other than how bellows work, we've made a start but there's a lot to do

3. Mine and Sock Club prompt for Feb was Slippers so I spent a lot of time knitting and ripping out a traditional Norwegian pair. A bit of a mind boggler and definitely some trial and error to fix some gauge problems. I got there eventually!

4. Finally got my hands on Hardcore English! I've been looking for this book for about 6 months. Came across this copy at Sidmouth in August and scoffed at the price. I received the very same copy as a World Concertina Day present (acquired for MUCH less than the Sidmouth price πŸ˜‚). Having a great time getting to grips with these absolute bangers.

5. Nighttime strolls around Plymouth during the breaks in the rain

6. Knitted a cat sized Shetland wool blanket for Midnight. She always sleeps on my knits so she definitely needed a wooly thing of her own. I've never seen a cat enjoy something I've made for them as much as she loves that blanket πŸ˜‚

7. This has been the hardest winter I've had on the moor since I moved here. That goats have been struggling with the rain and I've spent a lot of time sorting hoof problems and worrying about them as well as having the most unwell stretch I've ever had. Having an outside job and a horrendous cough for 2 months was not the one! But it's all finally feeling a bit drier and lighter and I can't feel the start of the gentle tumble into spring.

8. An inspiring trip to Coldharbour Mill with the Dartmoor Wool Loft crew. A wonderful and fascinating place. Definitely worth a visit!

9. Moved the wild ponies to another section of land through the middle of the farm which was quite exciting. Lovely to see the whole herd running around together

10. The February edition of a heck of a lot of work to put on but all worth it for a few hours of pure joy. It's been amazing to watch this grow and looking forward to bringing it to Moreton and Exeter soon!

January 🌲
An eventful start to the new year!

1. Into my 3rd year of playing the concertina. Forever grateful for the fun and connections that little box has brought me!

2. Baltic start to the year. Lots of cosying up with cats and knitting

3. Melvyn looking as majestic as his alpine ancestors in our sprinkling of snow. The solid ice that prevailed for 3 days was enough to keep me confined to the village, always a welcome inconvenience

4. Wassailing in Plymouth

5. Beautiful Midnight looking out over her city

6. Lucky enough to see the Northern Lights again, this time over South Zeal. Everyone dropped instruments and ran out of the Kings Arms session to watch them together

7. Wassailing in Drew

8. Bright eyed New Year's Day session at The Dolphin with the best of them 🐬

9. Back to Bell Ringing after a bit of a hiatus

10. Another amazing . In our new venue!

and I have devised a 2026 Sock Club!
We both decided to try and knit a pair of socks a month for the rest of the year.
Here are our categories if anyone fancied joining in.

There's talk of meeting up at a pub to discuss each month's socks if you can get to Dartmoor 🍻

🫐 HARVEST
The bluebs came early this year and were gone in a flash in mid July
Dreamy days on Dartmoor. This year with a team which was fun and it was nice to have other people on the farm with the addition of Pick Your Own.
Feels like 2 weeks ago, hard to believe it's been so many months!
