We’ve had a fantastic day at North East National Trust Crook Hall Gardens. 🌺 🥔 🥕 🌲

Many thanks to Ann & Pearl for giving up their time to educate us on different composting techniques and for advice on the allotment too. Traniees have had a wonderful day learning and exploring. (And having fun getting lost in the maze 🤣)

From seed to plate! We love using the veg we grow in our allotment to make tasty treats. An assortment of lovely, freshly-picked ingredients were used to make coleslaw and salsa. 😋

We had a very special trip to Woodhorn Museum today to listen to Ashington & District Male Voice Choir. They were performing as part of an event commemorating 110 years since the Woodhorn Mining Disaster.
We were also able to see a photography exhibition by the late Mik Critchlow. One of his relatives was in our group so it was an extra special occasion for him.

🌞 Wow what an amazing day we’ve had at our Summer Fair. The sun shone and a good time was had by all.
💰Many thanks to everyone who supported us - we have raised more than £500!
👏👏👏 Huge appreciation too to the dedicated HSU and Garden Cafe staff who worked hard to make everything go smoothly - despite 2 power cuts interrupting proceedings!

😎Hepscott Park HSU’s summer fair is on Tuesday starting at 11am.
🚀Fun and games include a tombola, raffle, bottle lucky dip and rocket bottle game.
🪴Indoor and outdoor plants grown by trainees will be for sale.
🦉Wooden goods, including planters, owls and clocks, made by trainees on site, will be for sale.
🎸Raffle prizes include a brand new electric guitar with amp, family entry to The Alnwick Garden , and vouchers for Hepscott Park Garden Cafe and Hepscott Park HSU garden centre.
☕️🍦Refreshments will be available from the Garden Cafe and an ice cream van on site.
💰Proceeds help to support adults with learning disabilities.

Today we had the lovely Tom & Jamie from The Pitman Pizza Co. Visit our site to see what fresh herbs and veg grown by our trainees can be used on their pizzas.
Two of our trainees cut lots of fresh basil to put on their pizzas this week.

Trainees have been repairing benches on site which were originally made from the teak decks of the HMS Calliope built in 1884 🚢 ⚓️

Trainees from Hepscott Park HSU and Sleekburn HTU have been sprucing up the gardens at Tynedale House Care Home in Blyth over the last few weeks. Well done to all involved 👏👏👏
