I thought I’d long since sold out of these prints of gannets but I have one of each available and I’ll be taking them to in Portobello next weekend.

I’ll be showing my work (with lots of new prints since last year) at venue no 21 at the beach end of Marlborough Street. Opening times are 10-6, 5th-6th and 12th-13th September.

I’ve been making my sign for which starts next weekend. The birds are cut out from misprints of some of the old Christmas cards that I made.



This year Art Walk Weekends is on 5-6 & 12-13 September. Copies of the map and guide will be available to pick up at all the venues around Portobello, including mine on Marlborough Street. You can also find out more on the website artwalkweekends.co.uk



Make your way to Portobello and then down to venue no 21 on Marlborough Street (the number 26 runs right past the top of the road).

Photos from my current exhibition at Eastgate Theatre & Arts Centre in Peebles. It’s a collection of my handprinted, limited edition linocut prints of birds that I have seen in Scotland. I’ve called the exhibition ‘Local Heroes’. Most of the photos were taken just after we’d hung the show, which is why there’s nobody there! We had a lovely opening event on the evening of the eclipse attended by lots of my wonderful and supportive family and friends.

The exhibition runs until Friday 18th September. Exhibitions are open most Saturdays 10-4 and Sundays 11-3. It’s also possible to visit during the week when the Anne Younger studio isn’t being used for classes but they recommend calling ahead to check. There is also a very nice cafe on site!

Exciting news! I just found out that my print of great crested grebes has made it into this year’s Natural Eye exhibition. You know that we’ll be heading to the big smoke for the private view!

The Natural Eye exhibition runs from 1st to 10th October at the Mall Galleries in London.

I’m so happy. I’ve had a lovely evening at the Printmakers of Scotland Festival of Print. I’ve had some great chats with visitors and caught up with printmaker friends and then, to top it all, I won a prize, from Jenny Mason-Gunning I am beyond delighted and grateful.

My stand is all ready to go at the Printmakers of Scotland Festival of Print this weekend. The festival is open this evening from 5-8 and then continues Sat 10-5 and Sun 10-4. I can confirm that there’s lots of beautiful work going up today showcasing a wide range of printmaking techniques. Everything is handprinted. There are also lots of lovely, friendly printmakers to chat to! Hope to see you there.

My exhibition starts tomorrow at the Eastgate Theatre in Peebles and here I am on their website. There are sometimes classes on in the Anne Younger Studio but weekends look like a great time to visit and there’s also a very nice cafe on site. Just saying.

I have two events starting next week, one is a solo exhibition at The Eastgate Theatre in Peebles and the other is the Printmakers of Scotland Festival of Printmaking, so today I’ve been organising piles of prints to go in browsers.

In amongst the many, many prints I found some of these swallows that I’d gone through the whole process of numbering, naming, cutting a backing board to size and then wrapping for display and I hadn’t signed them! What was I playing at?

My exhibition at Eastgate Theatre & Arts Centre will be open to the public at various times from 13th August to 18th September.

The Printmakers of Scotland Festival starts Friday 14th August at Stirling University and runs all weekend.
