British Flowers Week day 5!

The term ‘Friday Flowers’ has been around for a while now and whilst it generally means go grab some flowers for the weekend to cheer someone or yourself up! It is also a popular slang term, especially in certain circles, that refers to money and payday or weekly earnings. Can you recall when we used to get our weekly cash in a little envelope back in the day and we’d skip down the road to spend it… some people bought flowers for their loved ones, some bought much needed food, I however (after working in the vinyl shop on Park Lane in Macclesfield on a Saturday) remember heading straight to the sweet shop and then onto youth club 😂

British Flowers Week day 4!

Clematis is one of my favourite plants in the garden and beautiful flowers and foliage for a one day event so you can add some wispy movement to a floral design. A bit of a diva in the heat but oh don’t they bring such joy!? Water well and keep cool if cutting too. 🩷🤍🩷🤍🩷🌸🌸🌸

British Flowers Week day 3!

Today I thought it’s got to be about roses! We can’t celebrate the week without a nod to one of the most traditional, most popular British flower stars 🌟

With their spectacular blooms and captivating fragrance, roses make a sensational addition to any garden. From timeless crimson to gorgeous pastel peach, there’s a whole world of colour, texture and fragrance to discover. My personal favourite is a tea rose like this Bellevue variety as it smells divine & reminds me of making rose petal perfume in the garage as a child.

Saturday was a very special wedding for my good friend Alanna Alanna Cornelia Whitehouse & her long awaited husband Lee Lee Blackhurst I cannot wait to see more of these pics of this beautiful pair from their special day! 😍 … flowers aren’t bad either 🤩 ✌️ 😊

It was an absolute honour to be asked to cut fresh homegrown blooms for Alanna Cornelia Whitehouse from Sofie’s walled garden and also from Rosie and Matthew Williams for their wedding day yesterday. We had such a lovely day and evening dancing the night away, it was a beautiful ceremony, service and garden party filled with love and laughter 🥰

4 arches, 4 urns, 8 bouquets, 25 flower arrangements later I’m having a well deserved day off to rest with Mr L 🌸🩷🧡💛🩵💚❤️🌸

When it’s miserable & wet outside there’s nothing better than doing something creative and getting in the zone. Loving the concentration faces on the ladies who attended my wreath workshop today. We had lots of fun and everyone was very pleased with themselves and their creations.
