📅🏁Holiday Notice🏁📅
Just a quick announcement to say I will be taking a trip to France to watch the 24 hours of Le Mans on Wednesday 10th June and therefore Gala Wildlife will be closed until my return.
My last day at Nantwich Market will be Tuesday 9th June and the last delivery day for all website orders will be Monday 8th June.
I will return to Nantwich Market on Saturday 20th June and deliveries for website orders will resume on Wednesday 17th June.
If you feel your bird food supplies may run out before I return, then be sure to see me at the market by Tuesday or place and order on our website www.galawildlife.co.uk before Monday to guarantee delivery before I leave.
I look forward to seeing everyone who visits the stall tomorrow, it looks to be a busy day with the Bespoke Market also on in town.

There’s even more to look forward to during Love Your Local Market 2026 at Nantwich Market! 🎉

From 16th May, we’ll be launching our brand new Loyalty Card Scheme as a way to reward our loyal market customers while supporting the fantastic independent traders at the heart of our market 🛍️

For the first two weeks of the loyalty scheme, from 16th to 30th May, shoppers can collect one stamp for every purchase made at the market, with no minimum spend required. Once all eight stamps have been collected, completed cards can be posted into the Loyalty Card Post Box inside the market for the chance to win a range of exciting prizes.

Our first prize will be Nantwich Market vouchers, with the first prize draw taking place following the Love Your Local Market campaign.

Don’t forget to include your name and contact number on your completed card to be entered into the draw.

Alongside the loyalty scheme, visitors can also take part in our Trader Awards 🏆 and enjoy our children’s storytelling competition inspired by Nantwich Market as part of the National Year of Reading 📚

Over the next few months there will be a new seed mix available on our market stall. This mix will be heavily discounted, only available in 1.5kg bags and very limited in stock. Each new month will bring a new mix, and all mixes will be a premium quality blend of seeds.

✨Introducing May’s Special Mix✨

This mix is predominantly Sunflower Hearts🌻 (which are a delicious treat for almost all garden birds), followed by a mixture of Naked Oats and Kibbled Maize.🌾

Usual price would be £3.50 for this mix, however, as it’s our Special Mix for the month its sale price is only £2.50!!!

Wow!! I’ve been over the moon with the species I’m managing to attract to the garden this past week.
Firstly, I apologise for the poor photo quality, my phone is rather old now and the feeders are at the very bottom of my garden.
But it all started on Friday with this year’s first Goldfinch fledglings arriving and being fed by one of the parents. Then early Saturday morning was very special as for the first time ever my Sunflower Hearts attracted a male Bullfinch to the feeder. And to top it all off today my Greenfinch has returned! This is why I love this season more than any other, you just don’t know what’s going to turn up next and I can enjoy it all whilst sitting in the sun.☀️😎🍺 🐦🪺

Saturday highlighted to me that the media and the RSPB themselves have caused a lot of confusion and misinformation within the bird feeding community. Hence I have written a detailed informative blog regarding the recent RSPB summer feeding guidelines.

I commend the RSPB for bringing this issue to the masses, however removing seeds and peanuts for this extensive period will cause more harm than good and isn't the answer. I ask that everyone reads through the blog. It's lengthy, however it includes steps we can all take to allow us to keep feeding our beautiful garden birds whilst also limiting the risk of disease dramatically.
From this chaos could emerge a golden age for our garden birds.

Tomorrow will be Gala Wildlife's last Thursday market. I have taken the decision to drop Thursdays to free up more time for other tasks within the business such as deliveries, admin work, etc.
However, IMPORTANTLY, I will still remain trading on both the Tuesday and Saturday market days as usual. I would be so grateful for those customers who regularly shop with me on a Thursday could, whenever possible, come visit me on either of these two days instead. The British Weather has struck again!💨🌧️☔️
With today's strong winds and rain, the outside market has once again been called off (other than for the bread stall who have plenty of freshly baked bread already made🍞).
Hence I will not be trading from Nantwich market today, instead it's another vitally important admin day.💻📝
However, orders are still being taken for delivery tomorrow at www.galawildlife.co.uk where you'll find all the products available on our market stall at the same prices. Free delivery on all orders over £20.🚚📦🏠

Unfortunately, I have decided not to attend today’s market (Thursday 5th).😔🌧️💨
Partly due to the atrocious weather conditions once again with strong winds and rain. But also, there's lots of exciting changes happening behind the scenes here at Gala Wildlife which requires time to organise. Therefore, I've decided to dedicate today to working on that and rolling things out as soon as possible.😁
Nantwich market is still open however, so please do still brave the weather to support those who are there today!
