We are over the moon that the young people who attended our Young Writers' Group over the last six weeks got so much from the sessions.

Led by the amazing Lottie Williams, they had time to write, gained new skills and even took initial steps towards being published.

We are so impressed by them as writers and displaying such imagination and creativity. A huge thank you goes to for being such an inspiring and encouraging facilitator.

Thank you too for the help from whose support made this possible.

Mel Perry will be at Chapter One bookshop on Saturday 21st November to lead a poetry workshop on the theme of mining and quarrying the secrets of our family stories.

The workshop ties in withe the launch of Mel's new poetry collection, Mineral Wealth, excavates a matrilineal history embedded in the slate and coal landscapes of Wales, tracing the life of a grandmother the poet never met through photographs, objects, letters, and long-guarded silences.

Mel Perry is a poet, spoken word performer and therapeutic writing facilitator from Wales. She is Co-Director of write4word CIC and is a contributor to Literature Wales’ Chronic Women project. She was longlisted for Poetry Wales Summer 2024 and shortlisted for Arachne Press Afonydd/Rivers collection.
