πŸ“’ Behind every finished piece is a notebook full of ideas!

I'm busy planning new glass creations, sketching out future designs and putting together some exciting new workshop ideas. It's one of my favourite parts of the creative process, where inspiration starts to become reality.

I'd love to know what you'd like to see next. Is there a particular design, theme or workshop you'd be interested in? Let me know in the comments or send me a message. Your ideas might just inspire my next creation!

🐾 Every pet has a story, and every portrait is as unique as they are.

Here are just a few of the pet portraits I've been creating recently, featuring cats, dogs and even rabbits!

The process is much the same as for my people portraits. I usually receive several photographs, carefully remove the backgrounds, convert them to monochrome and, where needed, combine images to create the perfect composition. Once the client has chosen their favourite, I begin building the portrait using layers of black powdered glass, firing the piece in the kiln several times to create depth, detail and character that simply can't be achieved with a printed photograph.

As you can see, I'm always up for something a little different too. One client even asked me to create an ashtray featuring their favourite dog!

For those looking for an especially personal keepsake, I can also incorporate a beloved pet's ashes into portraits, jewellery or other glass pieces, creating a lasting tribute that's completely individual.

If you'd like to preserve the memory of a much-loved pet in glass, I'd be honoured to create something special for you.

πŸ–€ Capturing precious memories in glass.

Every portrait begins with a photograph and a story.

I start by carefully editing one or more images, removing the background and converting the chosen photograph to monochrome. Using black glass powder, I gently sprinkle and shape the image onto a sheet of clear glass before firing it in the kiln. Layer by layer, I build the portrait, firing it several times to create depth, contrast and detail. Once complete, I can also frame the finished piece, ready to be displayed and treasured.

This portrait was especially meaningful. It was created from the only remaining photograph of a client's long-lost father. Being trusted with such precious memories is a privilege, and I always take great care to create a piece that honours the person and the story behind the image.

If you have a treasured photograph you'd like transformed into a lasting piece of glass art, I'd love to hear from you.

πŸ₯‚ Sometimes creating the artwork starts with smashing a bottle!

This commission was great fun from start to finish. First came the enjoyable job of emptying the bottle... then carefully smashing it! πŸ˜‰ Each shard was then thoughtfully arranged inside a box frame before being set in resin to create a lasting piece of art.

The finished piece was a wedding gift, transforming a special bottle into a unique keepsake that will always remind the couple of their celebration.

I love sharing the creative journey with my clients, so throughout every commission I send progress photos. If you'd like to be even more involved, you're welcome to help place pieces or create part of the artwork yourself.

If you have a special bottle or keepsake you'd like transformed into something unique, I'd love to help.

πŸ¦‹ Nature always seems to know when to visit the studio.

This beautiful moth stopped by recently, and I couldn't help but admire its incredible colours, patterns and delicate details. It's amazing how much inspiration can be found right outside the studio door.

Who knows... perhaps this little visitor will inspire a new piece of glass jewellery, or maybe even a collection.

✨ A dragonfly ready to take flight... ✨

I loved bringing this bespoke dragonfly to life, from the first pieces of glass to the finished garden sculpture.

The wings are made from a beautiful pale aqua glass, with each delicate vein hand painted using real gold lustre. As the light catches them, they shimmer beautifully. The dragonfly's body is created using dichroic glass, adding flashes of sparkle that change throughout the day.

This special commission now has its forever home between a pond and a lawn, where it will catch the sunlight and bring colour to the garden all year round.

One of the things I love most about creating bespoke garden art is seeing it become part of someone's outdoor space.

If you'd like something unique designed especially for your garden, I'd love to help bring your ideas to life.

Every portrait begins with one or more photographs. I carefully edit the chosen image, removing the background and converting it to monochrome before beginning the glasswork.

Using black glass powder, I gently sprinkle and shape the image onto a sheet of clear glass. The piece is then fired in the kiln, with more layers added and fired again until the portrait has the depth, detail and character I'm looking for. Once complete, I can also frame it, ready to be displayed and treasured.

This portrait was created as a gift for a mum who had recently lost her daughter. I was asked to make a few gentle changes to the original photograph, including her hair and shoulders, to create the image her family wanted to remember.

I also added a touch of red to her dress because red was her absolute favourite colour. Sometimes it's those small, personal details that make a piece even more meaningful. ❀️

If you have a treasured photograph you'd like transformed into a lasting piece of glass art, I'd be honoured to help.

πŸ–€ From photograph to glass...

Every portrait begins with a photograph, and every one tells a story.

I start by working with one or more images, carefully removing the background and converting the chosen photograph to monochrome. Using black glass powder, I sprinkle and shape the image onto a sheet of clear glass before firing it in the kiln. Layer by layer, I continue adding detail and depth, firing the piece several times until the portrait is complete.

Once finished, I can also frame the artwork so it's ready to display and treasure.

This portrait was an especially meaningful commission. It was a gift from my client to a friend who had lost her mum some time ago. It was the only photograph she had left of her, making it an incredibly precious memory to preserve in glass.

If you have a treasured photograph you'd like transformed into a lasting piece of glass art, I'd love to help.

✨ You never know where the next commission will come from!

Earlier this year, I was at a conference in Cardiff and a group of us headed out to a live music club one evening. While chatting to some students in the ladies' room, one of them noticed the jewellery I was wearing. When I told her I'd made it myself, she asked if I could create a custom piece just for her.

After exchanging email addresses, we talked about what she loved. Her brief was simple: bold colours, lots of different colours, and something completely unique.

These are the pieces I created for her to choose from. Each one is made from lots of tiny pieces of dichroic glass, topped with layers of clear glass. The clear glass creates a beautiful depth, almost like looking through water, making the colours, patterns and textures really come alive.

I love that every commission starts with a conversation and ends with something that's completely personal.

If you have an idea for a unique piece of jewellery, I'd love to hear it.
