The market is the direct successor to Bishop de Lucy's market. It was re-established in 1975 and, under a traffic regulation order issued by Wi******er City Council, has the right to occupy parking bays from the top of the service road down to j

ust beyond Pizza Express. Recently, Wi******er City Council has authorised closure of the service road down as far as the George Yard entrance, which will allow market stalls on both sides of the service road in that area and will provide space for up to twenty stall holders.

The Town Trust announces that it is commemorating the work of its late Trustee,Pam Stevens, who died in August 2020 having served as a Trustee for New Alresford Town Trust since 2008.

A bench is being unveiled on the Avenue and Steve Brine MP will be unveiling it at 2.30 on 27/6/21.

The bench has been financed by NATT,Pigs,Rotary and Peter Bridges /Paul Daubeney.

Trustee, Penny Mcclelland has organised :

*2 minibuses plus drivers for 51st anniversary of the minibus operation begun in 1970.

The minibus team headed by Bernard Simmons will sell Pam's booklet on the history of the Alresford minibus. Priced at £1.50 per copy and explain the current operation of his new minibus team which has restarted journeys in June 2021

* vintage cars displayed by Pete Bridges and Allsort cars.

* stalls/gazebos displaying activities of Town Council,Pigs,Rotary,Twinning etc

Public are invited to wander around these exhibits for 3 hours of 27/6 between 2pm and 5pm in the afternoon. Trustees and volunteers will be on hand to provide details of the Trust's operation including membership scheme and becoming a volunteer on the various open days and events.
