From the studio of James Wheeler

Before painting full time James was a successful carpet designer …. originally from Scotland but moved to work for a large carpet manufacturer in Yorkshire.

Living within close proximity to the Dales, inspired by the rugged vast expanses and the ever changing light and weather, he’s created an astonishing collection of oil paintings primarily done on cork.

Wild fells and moors, remote peaks, deep ravines and windswept hills contrasting with sheltered valleys. From earthy ochres and muted greens to fleeting golds of dawn and twilight.

Have just finished framing these two limited edition gicleé prints of his and they’ll be in the shop later if anyone wants to pop in and have a look at his work.

We’re open 11-5 today and tomorrow ….. customers are always welcome for a browse and a chat 🙂

We sell an assortment of Tim Holtz’s vintage themed collage and scrapbook papers … after using them for various projects I ended up with loads of small pieces so have been sticking them together and making a Frankenpage 😁

Have sealed it with matte medium then chopped it up to make covers for some of the three inch mini albums, two box lids and also got a couple of bookmarks from it.

Can’t wait for the Farmers’ Market this Saturday, got some new jewellery made and so hope that the weather’s okay for everybody with this one 😀 🙏 ❤️ 🌊

Along with his prints we sell these Ritchie Collins’ Beatles cards, he also produces other ones of bands such as Queen and Rolling Stones.

Have been making mounts for them and will be framing some, shall put them out in the shop when finished

Have you tried acrylic pouring and ended up with loads of small canvases? 😬🤪 🙃 😁

This one was 20x20cm …. I’ve been cutting it into pieces and up to now have got a greetings card, a cover for a mini album, a box lid, a bookmark and 5 pendants out of it

I think there’s enough left for a couple of keyrings 😁

It’s been 10 years since we first came to New Brighton and it’s still as exciting now ….if not more …. than what it was then 🥰 🌊

Latest addition to our commercial portfolio 😁🙃🙃

My crafting and jewellery obsession has taken over our home so have got a little studio a couple of miles away on one of Warrington’s most historic roads called Church Street.

Built in the 17th century and was always a pub until the Lockdown … it’s recently been refurbished but one of the rooms still has the original stone floor 🤩

Just like on Wirral, Warrington and its surrounding areas have some fabulous artists and hopefully we’ll get some amazing artwork or crafts coming in that we can also display at the shop in New Brighton 🥰
