Another busy one out in the field! 🌱 Despite the heatwave, we’re working around the clock to keep everything thriving. We’ve seen so many crops come and go very quickly this year.
Watering is a full-time job, even though everything is on drip irrigation and fed from a borehole. Each bed is individually fed and can only be watered in sections, so it’s certainly keeping us busy!
There’s been no succession planting due to the heat, so we’re incredibly grateful for what we do have. We only pick for orders, and they’ve been plentiful. Here are a few of this week’s picks… 🥕🌿

It’s every grower/florist’s dream to have a bride who puts her full trust in your expertise. No colour palettes, no specific flower types — just British August blooms.
An easy pick when given free rein. As a grower, I can head straight for the best blooms at that moment, embracing whatever the August field has to offer.
Georgio wanted to embrace the season with flowers that celebrate all that’s British and beautiful about August. 🌿

🌸 An evening of flowers and cake — what more could you want? 🍰
From seeing the flowers growing out in the field, to creating a beautiful table centre to celebrate British flowers, it was a truly special evening.
We explored environmentally friendly floristry mechanics that can be reused time and time again, creating beautiful designs while being kinder to the planet. 🌿
Relaxing, creative and lots of fun, these lovely ladies each created their very own bowl arrangement using flowers picked from our very own ‘Field of Dreams’. 💐
A beautiful evening celebrating British-grown flowers, creativity and sustainability. 🌸

What a fabulous day spent revisiting the Narborough Travel Club from Leicestershire! 💕🚌
A wonderful community group that organises regular trips throughout the year, bringing members together to enjoy new places, shared experiences and wonderful journeys.
Many of their members live on their own, so being able to travel by coach alongside people from their own community provides such a lovely sense of friendship, companionship and belonging. ❤️
What a fabulous concept — and what a truly wonderful group of people!
We were also delighted to raise £110 for our breast cancer charity through the raffle bouquet. 🎀🌸

Ammi majus is such a popular cut flower stem, but unfortunately for us it suffers badly from the dreaded carrot root fly.
We’ve had much better success growing it in the polytunnel, so this year we decided to try something a little different outside. We planted a barrier of Agrostis nebulosa, otherwise known as cloud grass or fibre optic grass, in the hope that it would help protect the Ammi from the carrot root fly.
Unfortunately, it didn’t quite work as planned! The cloud grass simply wasn’t tall enough, quickly enough, to provide the barrier we needed.
The good news is that we’ve ended up with a wonderful crop of cloud grass to dry for winter use — so not a complete failure! 🌾
Next year we’ll try again, but this time with a faster-growing, taller crop to create a more effective barrier.
Sometimes in the garden, the experiments that don’t quite work still give you something beautiful. 💚

A bride's bouquet is always a florist's priority. For me, it's a moment of calm when most of the wedding flowers are complete. My sole focus turns to that one bouquet.
I love quietly hand-selecting every stem, considering the different forms, textures, colour tones, and those special details that make each flower unique. As I gather them, I picture the shape, the movement, and the way the bouquet will come to life in the bride's hands.
From the flower field and garden, more than 50 stems are carefully chosen to create this bouquet—a colourful, seasonal garden-style design, filled with natural beauty, texture, and movement. Every stem has its place, and every bouquet tells its own story.

Another busy week harvesting orders! 🌸
Picking the perfect colour palettes can be a time-consuming challenge, but seeing all the orders together—fully conditioned and ready for collection the next morning—makes it all worthwhile.
It's always a proud moment and a reminder of the care that goes into every single order. 💐
Today I’m looking forward to sharing a few stems with Peterborough Floral Decoration Society in my demonstration ‘Coronation Calamities’ 2pm ,St Andrews,Ledbury Road,Peterborough . 🌸🌸🌸
