Christmas is coming...
Traditional German Christmas cookies spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg, perfect for a cozy winter treat!
Ingredients:
• 2 cups all-purpose flour | 240 g
• 3/4 cup sugar | 150 g
• 1/2 cup butter, softened | 113 g
• 1 egg
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
• 1/4 teaspoon cloves
• 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the egg and mix well.
2. Sift in the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and baking powder, and mix to form a dough.
3. Roll the dough out and cut into shapes.
4. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes or until golden.
6. Let cool on a wire rack.
Note: These cookies store well, making them great for gifting!
