Any BR Modern Image or Robin Hood line collectors following the page?

If so I am offering the chance to acquire this double-sided box sign from Sutton Parkway station in Notinghamshire, the station located between Kirkby in Ashfield & Mansfield on the Robin Hood line between Nottingham and Worksop.

This particular was one of two such signs fitted at the roadside entrances to the two station car parks found on either side of the station; this particular sign being the one located on Penny Emma Way on the Worksop-bound side of the station.

Recovered by myself in 2018 in my previous life as a railway maintenance supervisor after the base of the steel column gave way in high winds. Railway regulations at the time meant that because the Low Moor Road sign was intact, there was no obligation to replace this sign, and it was duly saved from the scrap skip with kind permission from the TOC at the time.

Overall the sign measures approximately 7ft tall and approximately 3ft wide. Despite its fall to the ground both sides of the sign remain complete and joined securely, though one side does have a gouge in it from the impact.

Due to the size and weight this item is collection ONLY from the Newark on Trent area in Nottinghamshire.

Evening everyone, we recently passed 200 followers on the page, so thank you for your support. Just to let you all know we recently added a few new lots to the Mid-Rail website and also through our seller page on eBay, with our first sales via eBay happening within hours of our first listings going live.

By increasing our presence on eBay we are hopeful of getting some more traffic to the main Mid-Rail website, thus improving the exposure and sales conversions for our private sellers.

One thing to bear in mind is that prices on eBay will always be slightly higher than on Mid-Rail to cover the insertion fee and final valuation fee that eBay charge. So if you come across something of ours that you'd like to buy on eBay, then it will always be worth looking for it on the main Mid-Rail website as it will invariably be cheaper.

As always, we are always looking to welcome to new sellers on board. With our website offering both auction & fixed-price listings 24/7, and with the lowest sellers' fees of all the major online selling sites and auction houses, we really do offer a great value service for railwayana traders - please get in touch if you'd like more information.

We're like the buses this morning!

We recently acquired this 1892 North British Railway luggage notice in a cellophane bag and thought it deserved a chance to last another 130 or so years, so we let a local framing gallery loose on it - and they've done a cracking job.

The mount is acid-free to protect the paper and the glass is UV-filtered anti-glare to minimise reflections. The frame is one of their premium ranges, and while it looks heavy wrought iron, it is actually a very convincing lightweight composite, and suits it perfectly.

We have now partnered up with the gallery and are able to offer a framing service for all paperwork / posters / notices purchased from Mid-Rail at discounted rates. (Unfortunately, due to logistics, we are unable to offer this service for items being sold by 3rd party sellers on our site).

Hope everybody is keeping well during these strange times.

It's been a while since we posted, so this is just a reminder that Mid-Rail is still very much alive and kicking... if the mass cancellation of all the main railwayana auctions has left you with a big gap in your life, head on over to our website and take a look at what we have for sale.

Remember it isn't just a marketplace for us and our stock, it's a marketplace for everybody, so if you get your kick out of selling instead of buying then we could be just the tonic until things get back to normality.

Today was the first day in the lull between Christmas and New Year where eating, drinking and vegging out was actually quite boring, so this afternoon we added a few new items to Mid-Rail - mostly cap badges, but also a superb condition copy of the Book of BR Station Totems by Brennand & Furness.
