Thank you for popping onto "The Scot Box". We are Becca and Daire (pronounced Dara), a Celtic couple based in Edinburgh and our aim is to bring a bit of banter to as many households as possible, with our novelty sweetie boxes.
Our idea for "The Scot Box" was created when Daire's parents, based in Wicklow Ireland sent her over a package from Ireland containing Irish snacks. Becca became really excited about the delivery and wondered if there was a similar Scottish alternative out there.
We did our research and of course came across the very posh Scottish hampers which included Scottish produce such as haggis, salmon and cheese which is all very lovely... but our aim is to bring sweetness into your life with some of the wee things that you may miss if you're living abroad.
We wanted to focus on sweeties that brought back memories from growing up and living in Scotland. Whether that be doing your parents heids in asking for pennies so you could run to the icer or tuck shop to get your 20p mix, or from precious moments listening to your grandparents telling the same story over and over again while sipping Scottish Blend and enjoying a Tunnocks caramel wafer. Or, when you had one too many the night before and the only way to get rid of a hangover and get into work was a cold bottle of Irn-Bru. Whatever the memory, we have the sweet box for you!
