Festival waste has been in the news again recently, and it’s something that means a lot to us at Circular Camping.

We love festivals. We love everything about them. But seeing perfectly usable tents and camping equipment left behind at the end of a weekend is something we’ve always wanted to change.

It’s actually one of the reasons Circular Camping exists.

Since 2013, we’ve rescued more than 40,000 pieces of camping equipment from UK festivals. And what we’re most proud of is that around 90% of it has gone on to be used again.

Some gets repaired, some becomes part of our pre pitched hire service. And thousands of items have also gone to charities and humanitarian projects where they can genuinely make a difference.

Even our own hire fleet tells the story.

We currently have around 550 tents and approximately 82% of them started out as rescued festival equipment or customer returns. A tent in our fleet will typically go on to be used at around 12 festivals.

That’s what Circular Camping is all about.

Rescue it. Recondition it. Reuse it.

We’ve recovered an estimated 112 tonnes of equipment over the years, but we know there’s still so much more that could be saved.

With the right support, we believe we could rescue another 5,000 items from festivals every single year.

We’re not going to solve festival waste overnight. But every tent that gets another festival, every sleeping bag that finds another home and every piece of equipment that doesn’t end up as waste is a step in the right direction.

We’ve been doing this since 2013 and we’re incredibly proud of what everyone involved has achieved.

And we’re nowhere near finished.

And that’s a wrap on our 2026 festival season!

The tents are coming down, the camping shop is packed away and our final festival of the year is officially done!

We just want to say a MASSIVE thank you to every single person who supported Circular Camping this year.

Whether you booked one of our pre pitched tents, picked up your camping essentials from our festival shop, used Click & Collect, stopped by for a chat or simply followed and supported us online, we genuinely appreciate every single one of you.

But while festival season might be over, we definitely aren’t putting our feet up just yet... 👀

We’re already working away behind the scenes to make your 2027 festival experience even bigger and better.

And this winter, we’re going to be showing you a lot more of what happens behind the scenes at Circular Camping. From what happens to the tents after the festivals to how we reclaim, repair and prepare camping equipment ready to do it all over again next summer.

So make sure you’re following us across all of our platforms because we’ll be taking you along for the journey.
