Ensuring optimum forage intake provides important fibre calories ➡ it’s essential to support healthy gut function so the horse can make the most of the rest of their diet. ✅

🤓 Sometimes, you need to give your horse or pony different fibre options. WHEN & WHY 👇

⚠️ A horse or pony has poor teeth and can no longer graze or chew the long fibre of hay or haylage.
⚠️ Your horse is fussy about their hay or haylage and is perhaps eating less than the equivalent of 1.5% of their bodyweight per day in forage.
⚠️ Your horse is a poor-doer and your hay or haylage is of poor nutritional quality and quite stalky and indigestible.

Options for TOTAL forage replacement include:
🐴 Natural Meadow Cobs, Fibre-Beet, Light Chaff

Options for partial forage replacement include:
🐴 Low calorie – Light Chaff, Natural Meadow Cobs, Fibre Plus Nuggets
🐴 Higher calorie – Alfalfa Blend, Alfalfa Plus Oil, Fibre-Beet, Speedi-Beet, Ultra Grass

💡 Offering more than one option, alongside their hay or haylage where appropriate, will encourage natural foraging behaviour as your horse browses from one to another. 😇
