Big news for Irish homeowners — but planning-exempt does not mean compliance-free.

Ireland’s updated planning exemptions have created a major opportunity for qualifying rear-garden modular dwellings.

Under the new Class 3A route, a detached auxiliary dwelling in the rear garden of a principal house may be exempt from planning permission where the conditions are met.

That could open the door for homeowners looking at:

On a construction site, workers still need proper welfare: toilets, washing facilities, drinking water, rest space and a clean place to take breaks.

The question is not:

“Can we reduce welfare?”

The question is:

Is the welfare setup properly planned for the number of workers, site duration and water supply available?

For site managers and contractors, this is worth checking now:

how many workers are using the unit daily
flushing toilet or tank-fed setup
hand-wash basins and hot water demand
canteen / kettle / drinking water use
cleaning and servicing frequency
leaks, running taps or poor maintenance
