A fantastic Saturday spent in the fabulous Kielder forest with wilds - identifed, foraged and ate ; from woodland to plate 😋

Really insightful knowledge about edibles and specifically how to identify them when out in the wild.

For me personally, I am a mycology enthusiast - I love drawing, photographing and identifying mushrooms. I now feel more confident in foraging edible fungis to sample in the outdoors.

However, if I'm being honest I don't have any burning desire to sample mushrooms that are only deemed 'edible', and really just want to sample the 'excellents' of the world! But at least now I know I can identify certain edibles and be given the option of trying these, without getting sick!

Note: For those who are not aware, you can taste any fungi in the world even if they are not edible - however it is only if you ingest them, that you will have problems if posionous.
Best case, tummy upset and sickness, worst case, death.

Moral (not Morel!) - KNOW YOUR MUSHROOMS!
DO NOT INGEST ANYTHING WILD WITHOUT BEING CERTAIN.
