END OF AN ERA 🍬🥹🩷

Never thought I would be writing this, this business has truly been my baby for a very long time. Over 4 years of blood , sweat and countless tears have gone into building something from an idea, so it hasn’t been an easy decision by any means and something I’ve struggled to finally do for a long time however from Saturday 5th April, Sugar Sweets and Treats will be no more 🫶

From what started as a mid covid ‘what can I do with all my spare time I’m losing my mind’ 😂 moment to now, it’s really been a journey and I’m extremely proud of its accomplishments. We quickly became one of the best selling party favour businesses on Etsy having amassed almost 20,000 sales on there alone and we have been viewed 1.3 million times 🥹 we led the way in the market with a little idea, that amassed into something far greater than I ever could of imagined!

The business very existence allowed me to leave a none flexible role to being my own boss when flexibility was needed more than ever before around my little boy. It’s seen me through heartache , and kept me going when I lost my special Mam in 2022 when I easily could have lay in bed for a year. It was my come on Laura drive that I needed.

It’s seen 3 locations, staff members and most importantly of all brought me to my very special Elaine, who has been like a second Mam to me since she joined in June 2022 and I just couldn’t have done it without her. Elaine is retiring and is very deserving of putting her feet up ♥️ and just wanted to say a special thanks to her for all her hard work and efforts which has never gone unnoticed.

And lastly I just want to say the biggest thank you to all of my fiercely loyal customers who have supported me , some from the very beginning. We have been part of thousands of celebrations, and I have even done some party favours for the same children every year for 4 years and I’m so grateful to you all. Thank you for allowing me to do something I loved every day for so very long and spending your hard earned money at my small business.

It really felt like the right time to close the book at this last chapter but still as I type this I have tears in my eyes at how very real it feels writing it out. But I also can’t wait to have a little more free time, and lie round the pool with a cocktail in May for my first holiday in over 3 years where I did not have to still think about work 😂 and spending more quality time with my family who have made lots of sacrifices for me to run this business too, and right now and always they deserve my attention ♥️

Only a few in the future bookings have been affected, all of which have now been informed. And my Etsy and website will close for new orders as of midnight on Saturday. We are still working behind the scenes dispatching all current orders ahead of schedule too.

I will be putting the business up for sale in the coming days, more details to follow should anyone be interested in taking over an already established sweet business you can message me in the meantime for details.

Hi All 👋

It’s been a little minute since I popped anything on here … so Merry Christmas , Happy New Year , and Happy Valentines for good measure 🤦‍♀️😂

I’ve had so many lovely messages from my regulars checking in with me when I didn’t release a Valentines collection 🥹 and I just love you all for that. All wondering if I am still going…

The answer to that is YES I am still going , and I’m very sorry for the radio silence recently , the extremely out of character delay in responses over the last three months which are really not my usual turn around and customer service I have delivered for the last 4 years , and I thank you for always having patience and understanding that it WILL arrive.

The truth is, we have had a bumpy ride as a family since November. And I don’t think this is anything I’ve ever shared with you , and I know he won’t mind me doing so either, is that my husband was diagnosed with bipolar 1 in 2021. Anyone that has this disease, or lives or is close to anyone that has it , will understand the huge impact it can have on you all as a family during an episode. We’ve had a very difficult few months. It’s all consuming , and has put a strain on my own mental health while I hold the pieces of us all together to keep life moving as best I can. This leaves little room or capacity for much else and my family has and always will come first before anything else because they are the most important thing to me.

Thank god for Elaine 🩷 who has single handedly kept my business moving. Stock trips, extra hours , parcel runs and general running around. I just couldn’t have done it without her. So much so, 99.9% of people would never have known anything was wrong.

I feel able to come on and share this with you all, as I feel like I’m getting back to my old self. Back to wanting to get stuck in again ready for lots of exciting collections over the next few months and ready to go at my best , which is what I’ve always given.

2025 starts here, let’s go 🫶 2024 we ended on over a million views on Etsy, we are one of the biggest suppliers on Etsy for party and event favours , with 1500 5 * reviews and counting. My website is thriving with more and more direct orders from repeat customers , life’s good 🩷

I have had various electrical jobs carried out by Howard including the fitting of a pod point , outdoor socket and outdoor lights. All work has been very reasonably priced and carried out to a very high standard , highly recommend.

Wow what a two weeks, but we are in the final stretch of making and I’m hoping all orders will be finished tonight.

I have had to alter the collection times as follows!

CHANGE TO COLLECTION TIMES

20th December 3.30pm - 7pm
22nd December 3.30pm - 4.30pm
23rd December 1pm - 6pm

Please remember it’s CASH on collection, I think I have enough stock for spares which I will post on here tomorrow. As always, they get snapped up immediately every year so do be quick.

Please set reminders to collect. I will not be having any collections what so ever on Christmas Eve ♥️
