We have stocked Minor Figures oat milk since we started, at the time we chose Minor Figures as they are UK based but this recent decision from Oatly is shocking.
Oatly’s decision to sell part of their business to an organisation involved in such awful activity will lose them many valuable customers, people recognise the power of their pounds 💷 and do not condone this in 21st century!
We have taken the decision to de-list Oatly following the recent sale of a large stake of the company to Blackstone, a global investment firm. Blackstone investments have been linked with deforestation activities in Brazil and is headed by Stephen Schwartzman, a major donor to Donald Trump. As such we no longer feel that Oatly deserves to be on our shelves so have taken the decision to remove it despite it being one of our top sellers.
We recommend a switch to Minor Figures which is organic, made in the UK and every bit as good (or better!) than Oatly. We also sell good old fashioned local organic milk from Mossgiel Organic Farm in refillable bottles if you want to support sustainable local land use and the local food economy.
